Iphonephan (11404) - JACKSON HOLE, Wyoming, USA - MAY 31, 2016From a 12 oz bottle. Pours a clear copper with an off white head. Malty nose. Flavors of caramel and toast. Light bitter finish.
beastiefan2k (5012) - Bawlmer, Maryland, USA - MAR 29, 201612oz bottle to a 8oz glass. I am not sure what Bayern is able to do with their malts and lagering to make them so damn appealing to me. The delicate balance of toast, sweet, and well-lagering are really working over my taste buds. There is a bit of dustiness setting in that I think is a consequence of this not being super fresh but otherwise a sweet, not sugary, clean and earthy with faint hop end.
Darkmagus82 (2303) - - FEB 23, 2015Poured from bottle into a pint glass
Appearance – The beer pours a deep amber color with a small fizzy white head. The head fades almost instantly, leaving a lighter level of foamy lace on the sides of the glass.
Smell – The aroma is heaviest of a caramel smell along with some other aromas of a fruity nature of apple, grape and pear. Along with these aromas comes some lighter smells of a doughy and bready nature as well as some hints of a light citrus and herbal smell.
Taste – The taste begins with a caramel taste with a little bit bready taste. Some fruit flavors of a cherry taste as well as a little bit of apple are there as well, with the cherry getting stronger and stronger in nature as the taste advances. Along with these fruity flavor increases comes some hop flavors of a light citrus and more grassy nature are there more toward the end, leaving one with a nice sweet but still rather crisp taste to linger on the tongue.
Mouthfeel- The body of the beer is on the slightly thinner side in terms of thickness and creaminess with a carbonation level that is rather average. For the sweeter tastes of the brew the body is quite nice and makes for a very easy drinking and enjoyable feel.
Overall – A rather tasty red ale and one that is packed with a good sweet taste, but yet still very easy drinking.

jake65 (4400) - Lewiston, Idaho, USA - APR 19, 2013Bottle: A vigorous pour left a minimal white head atop a pale copper body. Light aroma is sweet, mostly caramel, but some fruit and toast also emerges. Caramel malt and candied fruit flavor, with very little grass or florals. Easy to drink with no single element taking center stage. Falls nicely into the amber lager style, imo. It’s been fun trying to track down this elusive St. Paddy’s day release for the past four years, but the chase was more exciting then the catch.
