COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
As America’s first certified organic brewery, Eel River Brewing always celebrates Earth Day (April 22nd) to raise awareness about how easy it is to become sustainable. By taking small steps as individuals, together we can make big changes. To celebrate Earth Day in 2011, Eel River produced a specialty double IPA: Earth Thirst.

Like all of Eel River’s brews, Earth Thirst is organic and brewed sustainably. Brewed with over three pounds of hops per barrel and finishing out at 8.2% ABV, this is a strong, hoppy beer! Cascade and Centennial hops give this double IPA a heavy floral aroma and citrus flavor. What makes this beer unique is that it uses the highest quality, all organic ingredients - all from the Pacific Northwest.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2023 Can from Total Wine in San Jose near Cupertino. Light amber color with high clarity. Nice piney old school C hops. Classic old school recipe. Love it. Well made and easy to drink.

UPDATED: OCT 12, 2021 From a 16 oz can labeled ? 'hackaged batch' ... into a stem glass. Pours gold with head and lace. Aroma of rye bread, minerals, slight oxidation. Significant carbonation and mouthfeel. Flavors of pale malt, straw hops ... uh, wet cardboard! I'll try to rate on a scale assuming it's slightly fresh.

22oz bottle thanks to Toby pours out golden topped with a white head. Nose is floral perfume hops citrus pine and a sweet caramel malt. Taste is more of the nice floral citrus hops spice and caramel malts.

April 15th, 2015 - A solid amber color and a good half centimeter of head, the Eel River DIPA looks appetizing. The aroma is somewhat reserved for the style, lighter and with pine, white grape and white peach, swirling in a rarefied airiness. In contrast, the taste is heavier. Alcohol makes itself known from the very beginning of the sip and becomes more assertive through the aftertaste. Pear and white grape juice moderate some of the alcohol's brusque appearance. The hop profile is also understated, lifted a little by the carbonation, but still somewhat suppressed by the raw alcohol taste.

Bomber 65cl San Francisco . ljus något halmliknande men ganska klar dryck. I munnen smakar fan klassisk USA inlands Dipa ovanligt numera. Tung känsla i munnen . Mogna päron och äpplen blött gräs grejen ja du vet om du druckit nogra stycken liknande i USA inlands stil. Ok Dipa . I jämförelse med andra ölsorter utanför Dipa klassen är den rikigt jävla bra. Men bland alla jävligt välgjorda Dipor numera får den bara 3,8

Sample during the "Biennial Space Tasting!" on 08/20/2017. Slightly hazy golden color with a medium white head that burns away steadily to an outer ring. Stringy lacing. Aroma of citrus, hops and malt. Medium body with flavors of herbal hops, citrus and malt. The finish is mildly bitter with a short fruity hop aftertaste. Decent overall.

Golden with a white head. Herbal aroma and fairly mild for the style. Flavors are a nice combination of malt and hops. Very light. Seems more like a standard IPA than a DIPA. I am guessing that there is a fair amount of sugar added to the recipe for this to be so light bodied and still have a 8.2 ABV. Overall a very pleasant beer.

Bomber, 2017 vintage. Floral hop aroma with notes of grapefruit citrus and pine resiny hops as well as a bit of caramel malt. Pours clear golden colored with a large, soapy white head that has excellent retention but no lacing. Starts with bright grapefruit citrus hop flavors with a little bit of caramel maltiness. Finishes very dry with grapefruit acidity and bitter floral and pine resiny hops. Pretty good, but the the bitter bite is all most too much.

Tap.

Skyview (6263) - Papoose Jct, Minnesota, USA - SEP 5, 2016
Sampled from 22-oz bomber. Pours a semi-hazy golden orange amber colored brew with an average sized off-white head that slowly dissipates and leaves behind some excellent lacing. Aroma of grapefruit zest, some pine, a hint of caramel malt, and some lemon zest. Taste is full bodied, soft carbonation with grapefruit and some orange zest flavors that over-powers the caramel malt base. Finish is semi-sweet at first followed by a lingering grapefruit and weedy aftertaste. Tongue shock recovery time is about four minutes.
