COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
This beer is a part of a Single Hop IPA series by Mikkeller. We created this series to showcase hop varieties on their own. This gives the consumer the possibility of smelling and tasting the unique characteristics of each variety and hopefully helping to educate people about the wonderful world of hops. For each beer, the single hop variety was used in the same weight for bittering, aroma and flavor and for dry hopping. All 19 varieties of single hop beers in this series were brewed the same week and with malts from the same batches and the same yeast and fermentation temperatures. This is done to better compare the characteristics of the different hop varieties.

Pours hazy orange. Pine aroma. Taste is toasty malt and bright pine.Slight herbal character. Biterness lingers like chewing varnished wood. Im not a fan of Simcoe on its own, its a hop that blends well with other beers, however a great showcase.

Great piney aroma expected with simcoe, nice golden colour with light white foam. Finishes dry and resinous. Might be a bit overpowering for some.

Can. Golden color, good head. Aroma was full of piney simcoe. Light bodied with light melon like flavors. Zingy pine hops. Well balanced with a pleasant fruity malt backbone with good level of bitterness to balance. Very well done.

8 Nov 2013, surprise birthday single hop IPA tasting! Probably my favourite of the five Mikkeller single hop IPAs I tried (tied with the Cascade). Big cheesy yeasty aroma with pine. Taste is nicely bitter and piney without being unbalanced.
