OK, I really wanted to taste their cask conditioned peanut butter stout, but this was the funkiest that they had at the beer tasting. And funky it was, too. Great amber apricot color, not the brown or brownish red I expected from a kriek. Not as funky stinky as a lambic, but nicely sour, with a dry fruit offset, slighlt barnyard smell, good lambic finish. Lewis Thomas their brewer is very proud of the beer, and rightly so. But no one is allowed to like the smell of a lambic!

They did a great job getting the cranky nuance of a Belgian kriek. both sweet and sour notes are prominent.

Good stuff. Sour cherry and Belgian funk predominate. Solid cloudy red/orange, rocky tan head.
