Aroma of a peat fireplace, oh yeah with a lightly fruity earthy lager base; quite smoky. Taste is more slightly sweet grain, less smoke, better balance but not as amazing. Average body, quite astingent, mild carbonation with a medium-long pungent smokey/phenolic finish which never reached excessive levels, enough malt to keep it in check in the aftertaste. Super stoked to have this, loved it.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2023 Bottle thanks to allmyvinyl. Appearance - deep copper but fairly clear. Wispy white head. Nose - burnt wood and roasted barley. Taste - more lightly smoky barley and wood. Palate - perhaps medium bodied and gentle dry smokiness on the finish. Overall - good if a little less intense than their usual.

UPDATED: MAY 13, 2023 Bernsteinfarben und leicht getrübt gibt sich das Aecht Schlenkerla Kräusen im Glas zu erkennen. Die Schaumkrone fällt voluminös und wattig, dabei jedoch sehr fest, aus. Es duftet erwartungsgemäß ordentlich rauchmalzig, was sich auch im recht weichen Antrunk widerspiegelt. Es lassen sich Noten nach rauchigem Schinken erschmecken, welche jedoch nicht eindringlich, sondern elegant zurückhaltend agieren. Auffällig ist ganz klar der vergleichsweise schlanke Körper, welcher wohl seine Begründung in der Rolle einer „süffigen und vollmundigen ... Erfrischung für die warme Jahreszeit' (Zitatende) haben dürfte. Durch den Rauchgeschmack wirkt der Körper aber ohnehin etwas fülliger, als er in Wirklichkeit ist. Grundsätzlich empfinde ich es als ein harmonisches Bier, welches einen sehr süffigen Charakter besitzt. Auch im Abgang zeigt sich das Kräusen eher rauchmalzbetont als hopfig. Im Nachgang kommt es mit einer auffälligen, schön lang anhaltenden Bitterkeit daher. Uneingeschränkte Empfehlung!

Taste: smoke, toasty malt, herbal and spicy malt, medium-low sweetness, medium bitterness, subtle doughiness in the bottom as this is an unfiltered beer. Palate: medium-high carbonation, mildly dry finish, crispy, Overall: Nice combination of malty lager and smokiness. The smokiness is mild and complementary, so the entire beer is not overwhelmed with smokiness. Perfect drinkability.

UPDATED: JAN 6, 2023 Piwo prezentuje się zacnie, piana solidna, ładnie zdobi szkło. Aromat średnio intensywny, nuta słodowa, karmelowa, wyraźna nuta dymna, wędzonka. W smaku na pierwszym planie słód i wędzoność. Goryczka zaznaczona. W piwie nie brakuje pełni, jest nisko wysycone, pijalne.
