coasternut (1883) - VANCOUVER, Washington, USA - FEB 13, 2024UPDATED: FEB 13, 2024 The last of the 4 beers I got from a friend who got them from Widmer Bros. These beers are pretty tasty considering the are gluten free. They were a trending beer back in the day. As I remember they were all quite good for being gluten free.
Dacrza (1662) - Great Meadows, New Jersey, USA - JAN 31, 2020UPDATED: JAN 31, 2020 DATE: January 30, 2020... OCCASION: a rare sports-free Thursday means a relaxed night with the boys... GLASSWARE: Howard's Pub pint... from a 12 oz. bottle, this pours lively and fizzing, with an off-white head that clouds up almost as a mushroom before settling into a vision more akin to car wash bucket before sudsing... say this, the color is a hearty auburn orange, much in line with the expectation of a pale ale WITH gluten... the head holds steady at a finger's depth for a good duration... strangely, the body itself is rather stagnant... light, dishwasher-like lemon is palpable, with equally light pine and a sweet caramel piques the interest... dank and almost nutty, it situates itself in a more British pale ale, buttery and sweet... a nice, rounded finish that lasts enough to be appreciated.... nuttier in its taste profile--hazelnut, mostly--than its aroma suggests, it also delivers pine, caramel, 'bready' malts, with a warming breath of lemon and orange--nothing more intense, though... the maltlessness has its limits, but it still gives a strong impression at 5.8%... I hope not to be gluten-free for the rest of my life, but this pale ale could be a go-to if beer stores only carry the InBevs of the world...

alexsdad06 (17907) - Cincinnati, Ohio, USA - OCT 5, 2019UPDATED: OCT 5, 2019 This is a backlog rating from 2012 from a bottle, from notes. When I had this beer it was average to below average for the style and not something I wanted to have again or I just didn't get back to my notes because of my technology at the time, work and/or family. Words to describe this beer are pale malts, cardboard, mild citrus, grassy, I guess it could have been worse.
