UPDATED: APR 8, 2024 Can from Beer52. My 50th Bavarian brewery tick and I'm merely scratching the surface. Pours a misted amber with small white head. Aroma of sweet breads, marmalade, spice. Taste has a jammy fruit, part marmalade part apricot, bread, cereals, some grapefruit and spice towards the finish. Nice bitterness. Medium bodied, slightly chewy. Nice balanced IPA although hops taste a bit stewed so some dry hopping would have helped to add a bit of freshness.

UPDATED: MAR 24, 2024 Medium hop and malt aroma, a little roasted note. Clear dark golden color, medium white head. Medium sweetness and stronger bitterness. Light to medium body, bitter aftertaste.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2024 Im Glas präsentiert sich der Drunken Sailor bernsteinfarben und gut opaltrüb mit feiner Perlage. Die weiße, feinporige Schaumkrone wirkt dabei flaumig-stabil und ausdauernd. Die Duftaromatik zeigt sich sehr reiffruchtig und leicht honigartig-malzig mit Noten von sehr reifer Orange, Mandarine, Honigmelone und Papaya. Hintergründig leicht grasig-herb. Der Antrunk kommt frisch, schön spritzig und bittersüß fruchtig hopfenbetont. Das Mundgefühl zeichnet eine gute, aber feine Rezenz, einen durchaus vollmundigen Körper mit cremiger Textur, guter Trockenheit und angenehmer Adstringenz. Geschmacklich und Aromatisch darf man sich auf eine leicht süßlich-fruchtige und fruchtig-herbe Angelegenheit einstellen. Einer leicht karamelligen Malzbasis stellt sich eine reiffruchtige Charakteristik mit Noten von Zitrusfrüchten, Honigmelone und Papaya, sowie eine deutliche, grasig-frische Hopfenbittere entgegen. Das Gesamtbild wirkt durchaus ausgewogen und in einer modernen Art und Weise stiltypisch. Die Trinkfreude ist absolut gegeben! Mir persönlich gefällt es, dass der leicht süßlich-karamellige Charakter nicht untergeht. Im Nachtrunk wirken gerade diese karamellig-malzigen Noten mit leichten Fruchtansätzen sehr gut nach. Genau das macht für mich auch ein tolles IPA aus. Nach und nach legt sich eine deutliche, aber sehr angenehm grasige, frische, bittere Hopfenaromatik in Mundraum und Kehle. Die betonung liegt dabei mehr auf aromatisch als bitter.

UPDATED: MAR 20, 2024 Una cerveza color dorada un poco opaca. Espuma consistente con una carbonatación media, notas a naranja y cítrico. Amargor bastante disfrutable.

UPDATED: FEB 25, 2024 330ml can from Beer52 - Pours a lightly hazed orange gold colour with a small frothy off-white head. Aroma is citrusy and hoppy, with some marmalade notes. A moderately sweet and bitter, fruity taste, jammy orange, grapefruit, peach and cereal malt flavours with a long citrusy hop bitterness in the finish.

UPDATED: FEB 13, 2024 Canned, 330ml from Beer52, Edinburgh. Hazy gold with white head. Hoppy, fruity beer on a slightly thin malty background. Notes of lemon citrus and peachy, apricot stoned fruit on top of a cereal malt. Not really an English IPA but it's fine.

UPDATED: DEC 24, 2023 [33cl can from Beer52.] An amber pour with a thick white head; muted citrus hop aroma; biscuity malt body with a light fruity bitterness. A gentle and subtle take on a West Coast style IPA, presumably to make it attractive to the average German kellerbier drinker.

UPDATED: DEC 7, 2023 Bottle in Trier. One of the few sightings of anything other than a Helles, Pils, Schwarz, Dunkel or Weizen. This is actually a decent representation of American IPA, with a moderate American hop profile. But it feels dialed back for the uninitiated. Had a couple of them, though. (#8757, 11/2023)

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2023 Klare goldene Farbe mit weißer Schaumkrone. Malziger, leicht fruchtiger Geruch. Geschmacklich malzig, hopfig, leicht fruchtig mit Citrus. Mittlere Süße mit hoher Bitterkeit, mittlerer Körper mit spürbarer Kohlensäure.

UPDATED: JUL 17, 2023 0.33l bottle. Clear golden color with white head. Aroma of hops, citrus, malt and yeast. Taste is bitter and sweet.
