kaserov (2320) - Oviedo, SPAIN - SEP 8, 2019
UPDATED: SEP 8, 2019 Dark brown, almost black. Brown head, one fingers, dissipates as fast as a Coca Cola head. Difficult to see the carbonation through the darkness. Texture is between oily and creamy with soft fizz. Aroma is roasted malts, chocolate, coffee vibes, molasses, burnt hints. Taste is roasted malts, chocolate, sugar, coffee vibes, molasses, burnt and liquorice hints. Sweet with soft roasted bitterness at the end. Alcohol well integrated.

PhillyCraft (12794) - Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, USA - JUN 20, 2019
UPDATED: JUN 20, 2019 Sampled on tap at Bainbridge for their PBW event years ago. Black color with beige top. Licorice, lactose, toffee, chocolate, and coffee were the main notes. A bit too roasted and charred at times. Average carbonation and body for the style.

UPDATED: JAN 29, 2019 1/14/19 - Dark brown leading to black pour, no real head. Licorice and chocolate in the aroma. Flavor has some espresso, a bit of licorice, some light chocolate. A bit of a chalky, dry mouthfeel, decent lacticity. Pretty solid. Thanks to Aurelius for saving one for me.

Aurelius (7042) - Tallahassee, Florida, USA - JAN 11, 2019
UPDATED: JAN 11, 2019 Standard longneck, bad label. Burnt motor oil pour, a shortish but dark tan head. Leaves a brown stain on the side of clear glass. Pleasant, chicory and soy nut roast aroma. Lots of play on the tongue -hops, roast bitterness. Fairly sweet, balances out the rich roast. Slightly heavy body, not too heavily carbonated. Pretty solid, no glaring flaws except for the label. ABC Liquors, Bull Run. Part of the stout mixpack. @PorterPounder I've got one saved back for ya.

Mooi in balans. Medium carbonatie.

Bottle from Struise Shop, Bruges; shared with Anke.
Pours cloudy black with a thin, dark beige head. The complex aroma contains dark chocolate, smoke, smoked meat, vanilla, wood, dark fruits, some hops & cream. It tastes light chocolatey sweet and light umami (smoked meat), light to medium toasty bitter with hints of tobacco; the finish is more smoky than hoppy. Full body, creamy texture, soft carbonation. Complex, good stuff.

dzurek (788) - Zielona Góra, POLAND - SEP 30, 2017
Barwa czarna, nieprzejrzysta. Wysycenie i goryczka średnia. Piwo bardzo kremowe, gładkie.

mariuspoenari (3297) - The Hague, NETHERLANDS - AUG 15, 2017
Pitch black with a short-lived dark espresso head. Notes of dark chocolate, roasted coffee, dark cherry bitterness, roasted malts, light caramel and lactose, plus a lingering chocolate brandy finish. Pretty nice for a sweet stout.
