COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Belgian Barley Wine, aged in a single scottish whisky barrel with wood chips from old sherry casks. Only 620 bottles total. Not all beers are as fortunate as this one. Normally a beer will be brewed, bottled, shipped, bought and then drunk. Not necesarily a long lifespan. But this belgian style barleywine was lucky. Is was the chosen one. Specificaly selected for a priviliged life, it was moved to an oak barrel and was able to hide there for seven months. Nobody would disturbe it as it reveled in its luck. Now though, it has been bottled and bought, but it has had the time to get ready to be drunk by you.

UPDATED: FEB 6, 2023 Bottled. Coppery brown colour with a mediumsized beige foamy head. Aroma is Madeira wine, red wine, some alcohol, mild spiciness with some dried fruits and mild toffee. Flavour is having quite much the same elements, but also a rather nice big time bitter kick to it.

Bottle... Pours murky and brown with a small, creamy, off-white head. The aroma features dried plums and other dark fruits, accompanied by caramel and a hint of woodiness. Light to medium-bodied with a thin mouthfeel and stinging carbonation. The flavor is boozy, but not biting. Sweet and malty - caramel, toffee and dried dark fruits. Crusty bitterness and ethanol provide balance. This actually trends bitter in the finish. Bottle courtesy of Plovmand!

Bottle. An unclear, reddish dark amber colored beer with a dense, light beige head. The aroma is pretty vinous and boozy, with chocolate, candy, coffee and roasted malts. Vinous flavor too, slightly sourish in a way, with roasted malts, caramel, wood and vanilla. Some dark chocolate. Full body and a pleasant carbonation level. Lasting finish. A strange one, too boozy and vinous, but with some nice flavors going on. 140717

Opaque dark brown beer, big fluffy pale cream coloured head. Palate is light and semi dry with fine carbonation. Interesting beer! Sweet yeasty and minerally dark malt. Mild candy fruits. A little chocolate and dark fruits. Finishes dry with the yeast turning slightly bitter. Complex and tasty.
