COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
In 17th century Britain beer was the drink of the common man. Wine was for the wealthy, tea was for the weak and water was usually quite poisonous. Men, women and children drank beer morning, noon and night. The most popular type of beer was porter because of its modest price and its nutritional value. One of the most popular porter brewers, and often incorrectly credited with the invention of the beer, was Ralph Harwood. This beer is inspired by the brown porter made at the time. TASTING NOTES Enters the glass with a deep mahogany with a small tan head. The nose quickly fills toffee and sweet chocolate. Smooth in flavour and with a big mouth feel without significant bitterness from the hops. Ends full, creamy and lush. FOOD PAIRING Should be paired with food as it could have been served at Harwoods time. A steak- and kidney pie should work well or for the slightly more modern touch serve it with a porter house steak smothered in a wild mushroom and oyster gravy.

Pours black with foamy, durable, tan head. Aroma is light cocoa, light molasses and light roast. Taste is rich chocolate and light brown sugar, moving to strong roast and some hops. Finish is smooth coffee roast. A very good porter.

W zapachu kawa, czekolada i tofii.

Bottle. Pint. Deep brown with semi-thick, light brown head. A little sediment in the glass. Perfect lacing and head retention. Aroma is something between old-school english porter and imperial porter. You can find here nice chocolate, cocoa nibs aromas with medium caramel and nutty notes. This chocolate makes the aroma pleasant and smooth and breaks the old-school porter boring features. Taste is semi-sweet, slightly bitter and earthy in the end. Medium body, creamy and smooth texture, average carbonation, finish is chocolate and semi-sweet. In general very good porter with nice chocolate notes.

(Bottle) Dark brown colour with frothy, beige head, leaving traces of lacing. Malty, roasted nose with caramel, chocolate, dark rye bread, a touch of coffee and roasted malt. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, dark chocolate, caramel, a touch of liquorice, black rye bread and a balanced roasty bitterness in a fairly dry finish. Medium body, with just a touch of sweetness. Solid and well made porter. Very nice.

A strong smell of toffee, chocolate, some liquorice, a soft touch of roasted malt. The beige large foamy head has a long duration, the body is black. The taste of chocolate, toffee, malty but not sweet. You can nearly chew the beer. A rather heavy body, very creamy with a rather soft carbonation.
