FoamForever20 (2032) - STAVANGER, NORWAY - AUG 15, 2020UPDATED: AUG 15, 2020 Coffee, brown sugar. A quite sour taste that is sort of odd in a brown ale. Some red berries and citrus notes.
mkel07 (10889) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - MAY 8, 2020UPDATED: MAY 8, 2020 Can from My Beer Dealer on 8 May 2020. What a great way to kick off the weekend with this super malty brown ale - first beer from this brewery but won’t be the last.
BeerVegard (1124) - NORWAY - DEC 20, 2019UPDATED: DEC 20, 2019 Can as Northie. Pours dark brown with beige head. Aroma of chocolate, bread, coffee, caramel, earthy. Taste is roasted bitter yet sweet, malt, bread, toffee, caramel.
hawthorne00 (8400) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - OCT 5, 2019UPDATED: OCT 5, 2019 Can, as Northie. Dark brown, beige head. Aroma is earthy with chocolate, hazelnuts, bread, spices. And so it tastes. It's light bodied with just enough malty flavours to keep you interested - nuts, bread, mocha - and just enough of a nip of bitterness to make a finish. I don't love it but it's impressive in that it's good within the guardrails.
hauxe (3981) - Butzbach, GERMANY - SEP 26, 2019UPDATED: SEP 26, 2019 As Northie Brown Ale. Dark brown to auburn, beige head. Toffee aroma. Chocolate. Bitter sweet with hints of toast and chocolates. Medium-bodied, soft carbonation. Good.
Nonshaugen (1003) - Fetsund, NORWAY - MAY 13, 2019UPDATED: MAY 13, 2019 33 cl, bottle conditioned, batch #980. Quite clear, ruby/mahogany colour, thin tan cap, no carbonation. Very nice dark malt, roasted malt and caramel aroma. Mouthfeel is thick and dense, no carbonation. Flavour is sweet caramel, roasted malts and brown sugar. Enjoyable Brown Ale, but a bit too sweet for me personally.
