bondar22 (64) - Kyiv, UKRAINE - MAR 30, 2024
UPDATED: MAR 30, 2024 The smell is pleasant, soft, malty, with a fruity undertone. The color is ruby-brown, deep. The taste is incredible. A combination of well-dried or dried sweet fruits, combined with a soft caramel malt taste and a light bitter and dry finish.

UM02 (657) - Quebec, CANADA - MAR 29, 2024
UPDATED: MAR 29, 2024 Bottle. Dark brown pour with a decent head. Aroma of burnt roast, a bit sweet with hints of caramel and chocolate. A bit of pepper on the nose followed by a roasted malt with chocolate and coffee notes. The high alcohol content is not noticeable. Nice Dubbel although I also do not find it outstanding or exceptional.

UPDATED: MAR 16, 2024 From the brewery: “ Westmalle’s dark, red-brown Trappist beer, the Dubbel (7%), features a rich and complex flavour thanks to secondary fermentation in the bottle. The Dubbel is characterised by notes of caramel, malt and fruity esters reminiscent of ripe banana. The first taste of Westmalle Dubbel is a creamy thick head of foam. When finished, the beer leaves lacework traces behind in the glass, but the most memorable part of this balanced Trappist beer with soft mouthfeel is undoubtedly the long, dry finish. The name ‘Dubbel’ refers to a doubling of the ingredients of the light, original Trappist beer that the monks brewed for themselves.” A fantastic beer.

andreasanthios (71) - ITALY - JAN 24, 2024

dahilein (183) - Grafing, GERMANY - JAN 13, 2024
UPDATED: JAN 13, 2024 Murky brown showing ruby red when held up to the light. Stable but porous 2cm head. Intense Belgian nose. Caramel, banana, spice, some cherry cola. Quite high carbonation. Boozy when held in mouth. Nice spice, banana, malt heaviness in mouth. Receding to a quite bitter finish. Nice.

UPDATED: JAN 1, 2024 Nalewa się z drobnopecherzykową wysoka piana, znika powoli. Barwa ciemnego karmelu/bursztynu. W zapachu nuty slodowe i skórka chleba. W smaku jest przede wszystkim slodowość w klimatach karmelowych, jest też skórka chleba. Mocno przyjemne.

UPDATED: DEC 29, 2023 Piwo o dominującym charakterze słodowym. Wysycenie wysokie, goryczka zaznaczona. Trunkowi nie brakuje ciała. W aromacie wyraźna nuta gumy balonowej, bananów, cukierków kukułek, w smaku podobne nuty, oprócz tego nuta ciemnych słodów.
