UPDATED: DEC 6, 2020 Rating from old records. Bottle from Archive if memory serves. An excellent red malty, hoppy brew. Up there with the Alphonse that followed a year later. Hope to see more reds from them

Bottle. Brown with red hue, large frothy cream head and heavy lacing. Heavy citrus, melon and toffee aromas. Strong grapefruit front, with a significant toffee malt sweetness throughout, balanced by mid palate grapefruit and roasted malts towards the end to provide bitterness. Complexities such as timber and chocolate add to the flavour profile. Incredibly thick and rich mouthfeel. Magnificent beer. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bottle from Plonk (March 2014). Dark red/brown, creamy off-white head, caramel, golden syrup, resinous, piney hops, grapefruit, rich sweetness, medium bitterness, thick syrupy texture, full body, long resinous, sweet finish. Very good.

Pours ruby-tinted copper with a fading head. Nose shows toasty, syrupy malt with some bready notes too. Also a fair whack of pine and resinous hops. Lovely malt flavours too. Quite syrupy, a fair bit of sweetness and bready malt. More pine and grapefruit. Overcarbonated for this kind of malt presence.

Bottle from Archive Beer Boutique April 2014. Copper tainted amber colour with a fair bit of malty character.

Pours a red/brown colour with a well-defined head. Nicely hopped, complimenting choice of malts. I would definitely purchase this beer again.

Deep red-brown pour with a thick, pale brown head. Pine, caramel, citrus nose. Taste was fairly similar, caramel a little more dominant, nice pine bitterness. Cracking beer.

From Bottle Shop. Pours an unexpectedly dark opaque rust-coloured brown. Nice very creamy off-white head and legs. Smells quite hoppy but not too bitter, floral nutty malt. Tastes more malty than in the aroma, tiny bit of pepper/spice, gentle hop. Fizzy slightly sharp but slick body.

HKdIPA (1437) - HONG KONG - JUN 13, 2014
Bottle from Bottle Shop at home. Surprisingly brown (rather than red/amber) pour with just a bit of reddish color. Dense foamy head. Fruit - pineapple and orange - and a bit of piney hops aroma. Taste is less hoppy than the aroma suggests and more malty, but does have bitter piney hoppiness. Sweeter malty finish. Quite good.
