UPDATED: FEB 23, 2024 Burk från Systembolaget. Svart med ett medelstort ljusbrunt skum. Dofter av kaffe, choklad, karamell, vanilj. Smakinslag av choklad, vanilj, bourbon, torkad frukt, karamell, trä. Stor och fyllig kropp. Värmande alkohol i eftersmaken.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2024 --Canned at TEJA tasting. -- Black, small beige head. Caramelly nose with evident alcohol. Sweet with full body and dense, rounded mouthfeel. Caramel, pine and mild wood. Mildly warming finish with lingering bitterness.

UPDATED: JUL 7, 2023 16 ounce can from Tavour. 12.7% ABV. Best by date of February 16, 2026. This one pours jet black with a foamy dark brown head that dissipates to a small tan ring. Rich, dark malt aroma leans toward charred oak, bourbon, dark chocolate fudge and brown butter. Flavor starts out smooth on palate, but hits another gear as it washes around the tongue and slides down the throat. Decadent notes of dark chocolate, burnt sugar, brown butter, toasted walnuts and warming alcohol. Though it lacks a silky, luxurious mouthfeel, there is an intense, bold roasted maltiness that simply overwhelms the palate. Additional notes of espresso, licorice, treacle, dark currants and vanilla bean. Take your time with this one, it’s sneaky big!

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2023 650ml bottle. Jet black colour with late awakening, small, creamy, fading, minimally lacing, tan head. Intense and condensed, BA supported, roasty and chocolately, dark malty aroma, notes of dark chocolate, cocoa, hints of burnt caramel, dark toffee, a touch of coffee, hints of whiskey, vanilla. Taste is a bit boozy, roasty and chocolately, dark malty, notes of dark chocolate, dark caramel, cocoa, hints of toffee, vanilla, whiskey, some hop bitterness, some roasty bitterness, some warming alcohol; even more warming, alcoholic finish. Viscous texture, smooth, soft and silky palate, fine, soft carbonation. Excellent, harmonious aroma, less impressive taste, rather boozy in the end - very good.

UPDATED: MAY 24, 2023 Black with a large foamy dark brown head that lingered. Boozy with strong whiskey, wood, toasty malt and cocoa. Very long boozy finish. Full bodied. Booziness overwhelmed

Flavour is extremely assertive, with lots of bourbon barrels, intense roasted malt, wood, and plenty of hops. Very roasty and hoppy, with plenty of barrels to complement. Abrasive but excellent.
