UPDATED: APR 14, 2024 Bottle vintage 2019, drunk after planting a Säulenapfel, blackberries, and an Orange Dream Japanese maple. Medium Red Like a Lambrusco, small head, sour cherry nose with some interesting funky notes. Medium carb, dry with a nice natural cherry aftertaste. Some very slight rubbery notes in the mid palate, not for the lambic novice. Good complexity and not overly acidic, I really like this one.

UPDATED: MAY 27, 2023 Taken while our group is on their way to the Vast Oblivium to eliminate a beholder, nice kriek, complex aftertaste, when down too fast.

UPDATED: DEC 23, 2022 BESTES LAMBIC!!! Das Boon Oude Kriek Boon kommt in edler Sektflasche mit Kronkorken daher. Das Bier kommt mit leicht roter, feinporiger und fingerdick wenig stabiler Krone ins Glas. Der Geruch nach Kirsche mit wenig Alkohol gibt den Ton an. Im Hintergrund Stallaromen. Das Bier ist dunkelrot und ansehnlich. Beim Antrunk recht trockene Kirsche mit hoher, spritziger Rezenz. Beim Abgang wechselt der Geschmack völlig ins Säure, jedoch nicht zu intensiv, so dass es für Liebhaber von Sauerkirsche ideal ist. Beim Test mit nicht-biertrinkenden Damen war von 'gewöhnungsbedürftig' bis 'überraschend toll und vielseitig' alles dabei. Werde weiterhin dieses Bier an Nicht-Bier-Trinker empfehlen. 07-2020

UPDATED: AUG 4, 2022 375mL bottle from Ölstudion Systembolaget - 2018. Cork explodes out of the bottle as soon as the fastener is loosened, as I've experienced a few times with lambic. The beer pours a dark pinkish red brown with visible sediments floating in the beer. Head is pink, frothing and long-lasting. Aroma is fresh and earthy. Strong notes of overripe cherry (surprise), and some notes of alcohol, vinegar and slight hay. Difficult to distinguish the notes from the overwhelming cherries. Taste is fruity and vinous. Notes of, again, cherries, as well as quite heavy vinegar, and slight notes of plums, tart apples, cranberries, and a slight warming alcohol finish. Texture is mostly watery, quite foamy. 8-5-8-3-16

UPDATED: APR 17, 2022 Vintage 2008. From 2011 in my perfect cellar. Piana rozowawa, spora srednio trwala. Mnostwo aromatow oczywistych, wisnie, kompot wisniowy. W smaku wisnie, pestki, zorawina, lekka kwasnosc ale moc wisni dzikich az 400 g na litr nie dziwi, przez te spora dawke wisni nie az tak wytrawny jakbym tego sie spodziewal czy wnet oczekiwal. Moze nie wysmienity lambick Ale na pewno dobre. Do swiatecznego objadu do rolady wolowej pasowalo super.

UPDATED: MAR 18, 2022 Flaska. Årgång 2017. Mörk rubinröd med rosabeige skum. Lätt syrlig doft med tydliga körsbärstoner. Syrlig något vinös smak med humlearomer och lätta körsbärstoner. Lätt beska och tydlig syra. Frisk och lite sträv.

UPDATED: FEB 20, 2022 Draft at Bru Craft. Know I've had this several times in a bottle but never rated it. Going with a draft version now. Deep dark red pour. Big cherry, including stems. Marzipan. Feels like the cherries in a proper sour cherry pie. Great stuff!

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2022 Aroma; good 'popp' with shot sound, yeast fumes, cherries, sweet malts, berry skins, fruit acids, almond syrup, fruit yeast, sweet spices. Look; good noisy pink head on deep purple violet body. Taste; cherries, sweet malts, fruit acids, berry skins, wooden notes, almond syrup, fruit yeast, hint of marzipan, sweet spices, and leading to a lingering smooth semidec cherry pudding finish. UPDATED: JAN 6, 2022 Beer tasting & B2B event hosted by Belgian Embassy in Croatia, thanks for the invite. Deep purple, small pink head. Cherry juice, sour cherry at first, red fruit yoghurt. Nice sour cherry, rustic acidity, dry, dusty, tannic. Medium body, smooth, strong.
