DraftDodger (7617) - Copenhagen, DENMARK - JAN 21, 2019UPDATED: JAN 21, 2019 Copenhagen 21/1 2019. 50 cl bottle from Østerbro Vin & Spiritus (formerly Gunnar Madsen Vinhandel), Kbh Ø. The Lone Ranger in Silhouette on the label.
Pours murky, dark amber with a small off-white head. Settles as flimsy, thin layer of foam trying in vain to cover the surface of the beer. Almost no lacing.
Aroma is sweet and citric at the same time. Reminds me of a Schweppes Grape Fruit. Exotic fruit, chewing gum, resin. The malt base is grainy but not overly sweet. Old Bed linen and dust.
Light carbonation. Thin, oily texture. Lightly prickly.
Flavor is well balanced between a medium strong sweetness and a medium, herbal bitterness. Aftertaste is bitter with a spicy touch. Lingers for a bit.
Not overly hoppy but the rye in the malt base gives it some spicy spunk.
CloakedDagger (9939) - - OCT 2, 2018Bottle 50 cl. Pours a murky, opaque nutty brownish with a small, rough, off-white head. Very little aroma, just some sweetish caramel. Rich, malty body, again caramel, a distinct Sorachi Ace spiciness comes by and secures a bit of fun. Not overly hoppy. More like a Sorachi Amber Ale. 021018
