UPDATED: FEB 25, 2024 Bottled, 500ml from Kay Gee's Off Licence, Didcot, Oxon. Yellow gold with white head. Sweet, malty, fruity flavours to the fore with this, dried apricots, sweet peach and toast notes. There are hints of vanilla and toffee through the beer along with a hint of spice. Good stuff.

UPDATED: OCT 29, 2023 Big full malty first up taste. Then aniseed finish and different to most others. Very little hoppy or bitter finish. Delicious.

UPDATED: SEP 29, 2023 From bottle (pkd 30Mar) in dimpled mug. Pours near clear gold w/2cm ivory head of symmetric bubbles, sweet earthy aroma. Malt sweetness is balanced by light aniseed bitterness & big peppery finish

UPDATED: AUG 31, 2023 0,5 l bottle. Pours slightly hazy yellow with small white head. Aroma is malt galore, bread with light grassy and herbal hop notes. Taste is medium sweet and light bitter. Finish is on the dry side, pleasantly bitter, just enough to balance malt sweetness. Great one, really drinkable despite heavy malt richness.

UPDATED: AUG 24, 2023 Bottle, which - like most of their beers - is a creeper. Gold with a quivering inch of dense, doming white head. Aroma of biscuit, some grass and pepper. Rich and sweet at first with some peach, booze and then spiced bitterness. Good in a style I've never loved.

UPDATED: JUL 15, 2023 Draft at Draft Shack. Clear gold pour, decent head. Nose is malt. Middle is a loaf of fresh bread, deep malt, herbs, floral. Finish is leans towards dry. Nice.

UPDATED: JUL 9, 2023 On tap pours out amber topped with a white sand head. Nose is malt forward spice some pitfruit. Taste is more of the nice malts touch of pitfruit some spice.

UPDATED: JUN 25, 2023 Aroma is Ayinger’s lager yeast and caramel. The flavor is fruit, Ayinger lager yeast, malts and a spicy hop/slightly sweet caramel finish.

UPDATED: JUN 4, 2023 Honey, mercury. Golden pour with decent head. Good malt complex. Light bitter grainy finish. Bottle.

UPDATED: JUN 2, 2023 Appearance: Pours a golden-hued color with a very slight haze to it. Healthy-looking, foamy, white head. Smell: Spiced honey with a rich pils maltiness and bready, biscuity tones. Floral, grassy herbaceousness hop accents. Taste: Abundant bready pils malts with a sweet honey spread. Soundly spicy with a floral, grassy vibe amidst a balanced mingling of bitterness and alcohol. Though still harboring a bit of malt richness, there's a lightly drying quality to the finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-bodied. Medium carbonation. Overall: A quite likable beer from a stalwart brewery.
