imdownthepub (26036) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - NOV 8, 2018Bottled, 355ml from Beermerchants of Kent. Virtually black with tan head. There is a fuller palate to this, lots of roasty, chocolate malts with an oaty background. Some sweetness amongst the bitterness, some citrus hopped notes. There is a licorice note, some sharpness. A very decent Black IPA.
Cybion (199) - Kent, ENGLAND - NOV 23, 2017Bottle, 330 ml. Pours almost black with a large amount of soapy tan head. Patchy lacing and a moderate amount of visible carb. Aroma is slightly sweet yet bitter and medicinal in the background; licorice, dark fruits, rye bread, molasses, light citrus, herbal and resinous hops. Interesting mix! Taste is a good balance of sweet and bitter; fruity, malty sweetness up front, with some roasty notes. More dark fruits and lemon. Bitter notes arrive later and linger a long while, with some more herbal hops and medicinal notes with a darker, more bitter malt character. Very nice on the palate with a slick, oily texture and full body. Minor carbonation and a noticeable but pleasant alcohol burn. Finish is dry, bitter, and slightly salty. Really good mix/balance of flavours with an impressive potency to everything!
tp35282 (1518) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - NOV 19, 2017Bottle. Close to black with an ever so slight brown tinge and thick cappuccino coloured head that sticks to the glass. Aromas of earth, black rye bread malt, grapefruit, pine and a hint of wood. Honey and thick, rich burnt toffee malts lead into a strong bitterness that begins with lemon and orange, but works into a grapefruit and resinous finish. Drunk past it’s used by date unfortunately, which may have diminished some of the hop freshness, but still a delicious beer.
vinivini (10773) - Homiel, BELARUS - NOV 4, 2017Bottle. Pours foggy deep brown with moderate stable beige head. Strong hoppy aroma. Citrus, pine. Additional honey & malts. Medium body. Tastes rather dry. Hoppy. Grapefruit, pine. Supporting toasted malts. Medium to heavy bitterness. Very good
