Wyg: Lekko przyczerwiniony intensywny bursztyn, klar, piana gruba, twarda, roznoziarnista. Sm: Wyscenie niskie, mocno slodowe - intensywna dobrze wypieczona skorka chleba, najpierw dominuje slodowosc, a w drugim glosie chmielowa ziolowosc i owocowsc, lekka bergamotka i skorka limonki, goryczka zdecydowanie wyrazna choc umiarkowana, do tego bardzo przyjemna i zbalansowana z owocoscia. UPDATED: FEB 28, 2023 Kupferbraun und mit leicht vergänglichem beigefarbenem Schaum finde ich The Brale vor. Die Duftprobe hat neben interessanten Röstaromen, wie Espresso und etwas Lakritz auch zart säuerliche Johannisbeere und bittere Blutorange zu bieten. Im Antrunk trifft kräftiges Röstmalz auf Bitterschokolade und Rosinen. Aufgrund der eher verhaltenen Kohlensäure ist dieses schlank gehaltene Brown Ale aus Frankfurt recht lauffähig. Im Abgang tritt neben einer milden Malzbittere primär der Hopfen in Aktion. Mit Mosaic, East Kent Golding, Hallertauer Mittelfrüh und Magnum kamen 4 verschiedene Sorten zum Einsatz, was das geschmackliche Spektrum von zitrusfruchtig bis hin zu deutlich bitter ausdehnt. The Brale hatte ich mir im Vorfeld zwar etwas anders vorgestellt, aber es hat dennoch seinen Reiz.

UPDATED: DEC 21, 2022 Im nächsten Wortspiel von Braufactum bei The Brale, haben wir ein BRAown ALE vor uns. Kann man auch nach dem dritten Bier am Abend noch draufkommen. Wir haben Pilsner und Karamellmalz sowie Mosaic, East Kent Golding und Magnum Hopfen. Ich erwarte süße Aromen, da nur das Karamellmalz die Farbe bringt. Die Farbe ist braun und klar, der mittelporige Schaum ist üppig und standfest. Beim Antrunk dann wirklich karamellig süß und würzig mit Haselnuss, aber schon eingebremst durch die Hopfenbitterkeit. Schön abgestimmte Aromen und passgenauer Übergang zum Abgang und zu mehr Bitterkeit. Dabei mittlere Rezenz. Beim Abgang kommen die genannten Hopfensorten als Gegenspieler zum Karamell zum Tragen. Es kommen klar Zitrus und erdige Aromen rüber. Das Konzept ist super, auch wenn im weiteren Verlauf der Verkostung am Gaumen die bitteren Aromen immer stärker werden und die Ausgeglichenheit so verloren geht. 12-2020

UPDATED: DEC 17, 2022 Bottle drunk after sledding and mortaring walls. Clear medium brown, moderate tan head, mildly roasted grain nose with caramel hints. Taste follows through, adding some earthy hop bitterness and a bit of an astringent note that's bothersome. Maybe water is not playing well with the hops.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2022 Pours a fairly clear, mahogany coloration with a ruby sheen when held up to the light and a large, creamy head. Smells of bready, caramel malt and red fruits, with notes of redcurrant and cranberry, as well as just a hint of coffee. Taste is a good balance of bready, caramel malt and bitter, herbal hops, with notes of red berry: redcurrant, cranberry, as well as hints of coffee and nutty accents. Finishes with a medium bitterness and some caramel malt, red berries and herbal hops lingering in the aftertaste. Smooth mouthfeel with a medium body and carbonation. While I did enjoy this well enough, it almost feel like more of Red than Brown Ale to me, with its focus on caramel malt, red berries and herbal, bitter hops, despite hints of nutty, coffee accents. A bit of an odd mix between the two perhaps, which works out all right, but feels just a little bit neither here nor there, to be honest.

Appearance: pours clear brown with good off-white soapy head and lacing. aroma/taste: barley, bread, caramel, light chocolate, light herbal and grassy notes. palette: medium malty aroma, average carbonation, medium body, medium sweetness, balanced by a medium bitterness, average duration, light dry finish and a watery texture. Overall: solid brown
