0,2l on tap @ Pikkulintu. Pours very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is roasted malts with some fruity notes. Flavor is roasted malts, some fruits and plenty of hops. Good stuff.

Bottleshare at Lancaster Gate. Thanks to Colin. Almost opaque dark brown beer, tidy pale tan head. Palate is softish and semi dry. Reasonable fine carbonation. Soft dark malts, a little chocolate cake. Trace of something oxidised tasting. Mild spice. Molasses. Piney spice. A slightly odd cda, getting on a bit maybe.

Bottle shared at Leighton’s place 09/05/2016. Many thanks to Colin for this one. Mahogany brown reddy coloured pour with a small mid tan head. Aroma is black sugar, treacle, brown malts, oxo. Flavour is composed of black liquorice and toffee, salty , earthy roast, pine, little resin. Palate is semi sweet, frothy, sticky hop resin. Lingering toast.

Bottle share at Leighton’s, thanks to Colin for tossing me this. As ’Ghost Black Octopus’, 7.5%. Black with a big dense foamy brown head. Aroma is rose water, treacle, coffee syrup. Body is thin and overcarbonated, foamy. Taste is dense fruit breads, raisin and rye, burnt sugars, lots of fruitcake, finishes dry. Decent.

Bottle thanks to Cloin. It pours near black with a thick tan head. The aroma is bitter - sweet, chocolate cake, sugary Euro candy, earth, toffee and treacle. The taste is bitter - sweet, boosty, burnt action, pine needles, chocolate, ashy and chewy malt with a drying roasted finish. Medium body and high, foamy carbonation. A chewy. Fair.

Bottle at Bespin, from an IP trade with Reubs, 09/05/16. Light black with a decent beige head. Nose is charr, peppery spice, pine, cocoa powder, treacle toffee, bitter tropicana. Taste comprises cocoa powder, charr, light roast, blackcurrant, pine, hop bite. Medium bodied, fine carbonation, semi drying close with an earthy hop scrub. Ok CDA.

Bottle shared in London - thanks to Colin. Pours deep brown with a frothy, tan head. The nose has burnt malts, chocolate, scorched earth. Medium sweet flavor with meaty dark malts, burnt caramel and pine, cocoa. Medium bodied with lively carbonation. Finishes with sweet chocolate, light roast, ripening berries, mellow toffee. Tasty CDA.

Clear dark black brown color with a large, open and frothy, good lacing, mostly lasting, off-white - light beige head. Aroma is moderate malty, roasted, dark malt, moderate to heavy hoppy, pine, grapefruit, orange - citrus. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and bitter with a long duration, grapefruit, pine, wood, roasted, dark malt. Body is medium, texture is oily to watery, carbonation is soft. [20160502]
