COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Unlike many other unblended oude lambik, there exists both draft and bottled versions of De Cam Oude Lambiek.

Please note the age of the sample you are reviewing when entering your rating. While many factors determine whether you have had "Jonge" or "Oude" Lambik, a general rule of thumb is to enter 1 year-old or older lambik under "De Cam Oude Lambiek" and anything less than 6 months-old under "De Cam Jonge Lambiek".

For those between 6 and 12 months of age, you should take in to consideration the character of the lambik. Samples presenting themselves as hazy/cloudy, with some head-formation and residual sugar should be entered as "Jonge Lambik", while those that are drier, higher in clarity and with little/no head formation should be entered as "Oude Lambik".

Cristobal37 (2392) - Tustin, California, USA - APR 16, 2024
UPDATED: APR 16, 2024 Bottle from Hi-Time Cellars. Unsure about year but it seems recent. Pours nicely and all head subsides. Aroma of funk and citrus peel. Taste follows. I think it's a bit less sour than the guezue. Really refreshing and enjoyable.

UPDATED: FEB 16, 2024 750ml bottle from We Brought Beer, Tooting. Clear deep golden. Nose of funky oak, grapefruit peal, woodchips and leather. Nice and smooth. Really balanced now, after 8 years. Gentle and tasty.

vinivini (10803) - Homiel, BELARUS - SEP 16, 2023
UPDATED: SEP 16, 2023 Appearance: clear deep gold with a small white frothy head of low to medium retention. Aroma and taste: funk, vinegar, lemon, some cherries for some reason, floral notes. Dry. Medium sour, tart. Mouth feel: ligh to medium body, flat carbonation. Summary: fine but not outstanding.

janubio (1792) - SPAIN - SEP 12, 2023
UPDATED: SEP 12, 2023 75 cl corked bottle, I don't remember where I got it, served in a flute glass. Golden colour, just a hint of head that dissappear in the blink of an eye. No lacing. Aroma is funky, earthy, bretts, hay, some citrics and green apples, grapes, vinegar. Medium to light body, rough texture, no carbonation. Dry finish. Taste follows the aroma. I expected more sourness and funkiness, but it's really a great beer.

Grzesiek79 (7216) - Radom, POLAND - SEP 6, 2023
UPDATED: SEP 6, 2023 Vintage 2012. Bez gazu i wystrzalu, surowe, jak z beczki oude Lambiek. Starzone wiele lat w piwnicy, lepki korek, Metne i brudne, ciemnego bursztynu. Do kurek w sosie maslano-serowym wysmienicie, podkreca zapach stajennej nuty, skorzanego, wosjskowego pasa. Wytrawne ale z pelnym chlebowym cialem, zarazem lekkie w degustacji. Kompletnie odjechane i inne jak w nocie opisu stary wiekowy nie blendowany Lambik.

midovark (6294) - Alkmaar, NETHERLANDS - AUG 13, 2023
UPDATED: AUG 13, 2023 Bottle shared with the boys, courtesy of RJ. Interesting lambic this, softly carbonated, low acidity, loads of funk and a huuuge amount of salinity. I mean, HUGE. Drinks very weird, dry and salty, not great.

beerplace (8809) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - APR 29, 2023
UPDATED: OCT 16, 2023 750ml bottle shared with Ryan. Bottled on L12/2015. The first beer in Stockholm! The blend of 4-year-old lambics, US export version. Appearance: almost clear straw color with no head. Aroma: nice funk and bugs. Taste: along the same lines with a nice and bold body that's a bit surprising for 5% beer. Overall: very nice!
