Clear bright orange with no head - I have no idea what a good mead should look like, so .... 3/5? Initially a pungent, sour/herbal aroma - we were a-scared, but it settled down to a nice blend of dry oak, orange zest and hazelnut - quite sweet and fairly strong alcohol. The taste is alcohol, orange toffee and almonds - sweet, if a little thin - slick, somewhat boozy, astringent, a nice sharp citrus acidity in the linger. Overall a little light, but very drinkable - got a nice little buzz off it. garthicus (1305), Toronto, Ontario, Canada

Aroma: Floral honey, spicy, dark fruit and pepper. Nice legs too. Flavour: Pleasant light honey, nice sticky mouth feel, floral and malty with a lovely rose finish, nuts too. Very nice and I’m very grateful to a colleague from work bringing it back from Poland to Canada for me. unclemattie (2422), Georgia, USA

Pours the color of Bourbon Whiskey. Deep golden copper. Nice legs. Nice hot aroma. Lots of vanilla, raisins, honey, and huge sherry. Flavor has a deep caramelized character. A good bit of heat. Dominate candied honey flavors, with some toffee and a good amount of brown sugar as well. Some fruit is laying in there as well. Prunes mostly. Finish is a bit sticky. If Mead is good enough for Dumbledore, it is good enough for me. FatPhil (3480), Espoo, Finland

Deep glassy gold. Lovely rich sticky honey aroma, some rich fruitcake perhaps, as there’s mixed peel and raisins too. Lovely fruity body, packed full of fruity spices. Gently warming, no taste of booze though. Sweet buttery finish. Great mead, and, being a number 3, very drinkable. nate2g (1095), Brisbane, Australia

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Oct 31, 2008 Thanks, Hopscotch! Dark golden amber color with strong honey aroma with floral elements. Not too harsh on the alcohol, but it is prevelent. A little vanilla and sunflower also in the flavore. Good mead. PhillyBeer2112 (2089), Orange Park, Florida, USA

The flavor also very sweet, but more simplistic focused on honey, less the floral. Big sweet heavy finish. I like it. Oakes (8100), gone rambling, Vietnam
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 4, 2008 Golden-brown colour. Still. Rich, sherryish, brown sugary nose with some tomato and hints of cherry. Could almost be mistaken for an old rum. Sweet and soft, with a light alcoholic dryness late. Has lots of brown sugar richness. The heat cuts through a little bit, which actually detracts from the lovely sweetness. Overall, though, it’s pretty good stuff.
