Bottle. It poured a black color with a tan head. The aroma was of roasted malts, fruits, chocolate and some bitterness. The taste was similar to the aroma with more malts, dried fruits, chocolate, bitterness and medium carbonation with a sweet aftertaste. Tasty.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2018 On tap at Mikkeller in San Fran, CA. Aroma is burnt sugar, dark chocolate, dark fruit. Taste is dark chocolate, mild charred fruit. Rich flavors up front that mellow out nicely making this incredibly drinkable (almost sessionable). Incredible beer and an flawless experience (Keith Shore art, controlled temp pours and my work wife, Will S.)

Deep super dark brown coloured body with a very dense, three centimetre tall pure brown head with some large bubbles and a good opacity throughout the beer, perhaps 90% opaque. Aroma of alcohol, roasted malt, light nuts, earth, caramel and a big dose of grain along with some subdued oat and cereal scents. Medium to Full-bodied; Rich malty flavour with a big deal of roasty malts along with some cereal and a bigger dose of vanilla right behind the alcohol and earthiness of the larger malts. Full to Medium-bodied; Strong roasty flavours of coffee and anise at first with a big dose of the grain and vanilla along with a touch of caramel sweetness right behind and little else - more malty than anything else. Aftertaste shows the bitter coffee flavours at first with some assertive prune and pitted fruit notes along with a dose of the lactose and residual grain flavours near the end. Overall, a nice and robust beer that shows a very milky and lactose side of things with a lot of flavours and pungency throughout. I sampled this 33 cL bottle purchased from Knightly Spirits in Orlando (Orange Blossom Trail), Florida on 28-December-2017 for US$6,99 sampled in my hotel room here at the Disney World Dolphin on 30-December-2017.

4.3
Excalibur123 (670) - Soria, SPAIN - DEC 6, 2017
