COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Made in the style produced by Trappist monks in the Abbeys of Belgium, Resurrection has complexities not unlike wine and there are very definite spicy/herbal characters both on the nose and palate. Deep copper red in colour with a light white head. The nose has distinct bubblegum, spice and herbal characters from the yeast used and the fermentation regime. These aromas are noticeable on the palate too along with a Gewürztraminer wine-like perfume. The palate is complex and rich but balanced with a cleansing bitterness. Drink with care! We suggest warming your glass with cupped hands to fully release the flavours and aromas of Resurrection.

[8420-20160531] Tap. Licorice toast and light grains aroma. Clear, red brown body with a quick foamy white head. Bitter grains booze up front in the flavour follows with a zesty toasted citrus peel aftertaste. Medium body. Odd. (7/3/5/2/12) 2.9

jercraigs (14874) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 28, 2016
2016-05-31. Lightly hazy mahogany brown body with a small beige head. Aroma of fruity estery Belgian character. Light sugar and alcohol. Flavour is relatively sweet, fruity estery character, lightly sugary and caramel notes. Very light alcohol. 7+ Smooth average plus bodied palate, soft to low carbonation, is adequate but feels thin for the style. Pretty simple but enjoyable. 7/3-4/7/3/15+ On tap at Galbraiths, Auckland, NZ.

Bif (3307) - St. Charles, Missouri, USA - MAR 31, 2013
Served a mahogany color with a small head that fades to just bits of lacing. Aroma of dark fruit, malt, spice and herbal. Taste of dark fruit, with a solid presence of malt in the background with some spice. Mild bitterness and a fairly dry finish. Medium body, smooth with a richness that increases as it warms. Enjoyable sipper, from a brewer that tends to lean towards british style ales. Worth checking out.

It’s a brave brewery who attempts a Belgian ale in New Zealand. So often it goes wrong or misses the mark. What impressed me was that blindfolded I would have known exactly what it was supposed to be. Appeared dark amber with a cream coloured skim of head. The persistent carbonation gave a certain sherbety character in my mouth along with plenty of Belgian style flavours: tarts, orchard fruit and allspice, dates and even a hint of musty basement. True to character and enjoyable in form. Well done.

very rich malty character with notes of caramel milk chocolate and cherries. Rich warming. Not massive complexity but well made and enjoyable. Alcohol is a bit present

This is a truly lovely beer. Even if the "Belgian" word seems scary, don’t be afraid. This is a big soft rich warming beer with fruitiness, sweetness and subtle alcohol. Like a cold northern Christmas to a Pom (me). It’s a sipper, and it changes as it breathes and warms.
