Lunkie (2594) - Glen Iris, AUSTRALIA - AUG 27, 2023
UPDATED: AUG 27, 2023 Malt biscuit caramel aroma. Dark brown colour good head and lacing. Caramel chocolate malt biscuit flavour. Smooth lingering palate.

UPDATED: JAN 12, 2020 A classic imperial stout, but really good. If it were a hand dryer, it would definitely be a Dyson

fletchfighters (1836) - WEST RYDE, AUSTRALIA - AUG 2, 2019
UPDATED: AUG 2, 2019 750 ml bottle Jet black, splashes of ruby at top. Light tan head. Falls to a thin, persistent collar. Nose is dark fruit, roast, grain. No barrel character to this in the nose. Much closer to a blend or non ba stout. Taste is dark fruit, roast and bitter grain, coffee and soft oak notes. Slick and oily in the mouth. What barrel character there is isin the back. Nice but kind of meh at the same time.

Patersoi (455) - AUSTRALIA - APR 4, 2019
UPDATED: APR 4, 2019 Pours oily black with sumptuous deep tan head that clings to the glass. Aroma of bourbon and malt. Soft creamy mouth feel delivers chocolate, coffee, dark Christmas cake and dates upfront, with vanilla and warm brandy glow to follow. Extraordinarily long finish has you gliding down the long smooth chocolate liqueur slide for minutes on end. Only let down by the slightest amount of clagginess at the end.

deyholla (21675) - Minneapolis, Minnesota, USA - FEB 27, 2019
UPDATED: FEB 27, 2019 Sampled from the tap at the brewery. 2018 version. Pours near black with a dark brown head that dissipates to the edges. Aroma has a decent amount of whiskey with dark grains, roasted malts and chocolate supporting. Flavor has sweet dark grains and chocolate with a whiskey bite and roasted malts underlying.

Dredd (1103) - Bentleigh, AUSTRALIA - JUN 2, 2018
Well after 15 years, I have hit my 1000th rating and chose a beer that is fitting for such an occasion. This is a big beer by anyone’s standard. The pour is jet black, with a thin pale tan head. Aroma is layered with dark toffee, dried prunes/raisins and hints of molasses. The palate overwhelms with bursts of coffee, prunes, more molasses, some chocolate and a slight pepper element. There is also a slight creaminess in the palate that I would suspect is coming from the barrels. An exceptional beer.

doriangrey (371) - Diamond Creek, AUSTRALIA - MAY 24, 2018
The 2017 version on tap at the Terminus Melbourne. Rum and raisin chocolate. Very fruity and reminds me of Scheihallions whiskey aged beers. A little too much whiskey for my taste but still a big and nice beer. Some vanilla and liquorice and plenty going on but not as thick and full as some

beer-yum (3705) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JAN 13, 2018
UPDATED: JAN 21, 2018 Massively alluring aroma in a deep black pour. Absolutely spectacular flavor profile leaves me speechless (I’m a Kiwi and this is an Aussie beer) which should give you an idea how good this beer is. I’m gob smacked to be honest (albeit I really shouldn’t be given how good the Moon Dog 2013 is).

CurlyJoe (731) - AUSTRALIA - OCT 27, 2017
UPDATED: OCT 27, 2017 Dark black with quickly disappearing brown head. Twisted chocolate aroma, not too strong though. Chocolate driven taste too, dark berries as well. Very tasty, but perhaps a bit thin than more lucious imperials.

mkel07 (10893) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - AUG 12, 2017
Date: 10 August 2017 Purchased From: Tippler’s Tap – South Brisbane Container Type: On tap Appearance: Dense, black and shiny, impenetrable Aroma: Chocolate, vanilla and burnt toast Flavour: Loaded with chocolate, slightly bitter Palate: Smooth and mellow for such a big beer Comments: Does not taste like a 12.5% beer – dangerously drinkable
