Svesse (14257) - Hässelby, SWEDEN - APR 10, 2021
UPDATED: APR 10, 2021 (Bottle) Black colour with creamy, beige head. Malty, roasted nose with notes of black coffee, dark chocolate, black rye bread, prunes, liquorice, treacle and a touch of tamarind. Malty, roasted taste with coffee, liquorice, black rye bread, prunes, black pepper, soy sauce, a touch of shellfish or oyster shells, anise, hints of smoke and a balanced roasty bitterness in the finish. Full body, with a certain sweetness. Quite complex and really tasty, with a mild oyster touch coming through. Very nice.

UPDATED: JAN 13, 2021 Bottle. Pretty much black with a large light tan head. Aroma of mocha, smoke, seaweed, caramel, orange peel. Full, creamy texture. Sweetish but not as sweet as suggested by the aroma - partly that's much heavier roast, partly some bitterness and a nice jolt of pepper at the end. Not obviously oysters, although it's a bit briny: comes across more as seaweed/ iodine. Clearly strong but there's no overt alcohol. In the last 18 months I've stopped thinking of Garage Project as good but over-hyped.

colui72 (4922) - Sassari, ITALY - JAN 3, 2021
UPDATED: JAN 3, 2021 Dominant roastiness on the nose, smokey and peppery. Differently aromatic. Jet black, effervescent pour with a tan fluffy head, with great retention and lacing. Beauty. Tastes as expected from its aroma, a lot of smoke and roasty. Peppery and savoury notes. Well balanced, with a moderately dry finish. Full bodied, viscous, low carbonation. Alcohol warmth evident at the back of the tongue and lingering in the after taste. Solid, tasty, pungent. Maybe not for everyone because of high roastiness and smoke.

Maris (3432) - Canberra, AUSTRALIA - DEC 25, 2019
UPDATED: DEC 25, 2019 From a 650ml bottle on 24/12/2019 (shared by Butz with thanks). Pours not far from black with a small head. The nose presents strongly of oyster with some chocolate in the mix. There's a lot going on on the sip - chocolate, cocoa, fudge, soy, licorice and again lots of oyster. It's very sweet up front but finishes with a reasonably sharp, lightly spicy bitterness, with some booze in the background. The mouthfeel is a touch syrupy and the carbonation a touch fizzy. This is big, quite complex dessert sipper, which drinks every bit of its 12 per cent. Very nice stuff. And a great packaging too.
