UPDATED: MAR 18, 2024 Draught @ Brouwerij Lane, Brooklyn (Feb 2023). Clear reddish brown with a small frothy beige head, caramel malt aroma, medium carbonation, bitter caramel malt taste with faint grain flavor, alcohol undertones, smooth thin body, long finish. Very smooth to drink despite the ABV.

UPDATED: DEC 31, 2023 0,355 l bottle. 2021. Pours dark amber with medium, quickly dissipating tan head. Aroma of candied fruit, dried fruit, caramel, sweet and very little alcohol. Taste is heavy sweet and heavy bitter. Body is oily and carbonation pleasant. Finish is extra long, as sweetness fades heavy bitterness lingers. Nicely balanced heavy bitterness with sweetness, plenty of character and alcohol is well hidden. Top.

UPDATED: DEC 27, 2023 Mistig bruin bier met een stevige crèmekleurige 2-vingerdikke schuimkraag van fijne structuur die bijzonder lang blijft staan. Ik ruik een fruitig aroma van citroen en sinaasappel aangevuld met caramel. In de smaak wordt dit nog intenser met een start van marmelade die overgaat in een stevige bitterheid. Behoorlijk veel loodzuur in het mondgevoel waardoor het ondanks de zwaarte een levendig bier is.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2023 Pours a deep amber red with thick long-lasting yellowish head. Robust sweet aroma backed by alcohol, reminiscent of barley-sugar candy, hint of honey. Flavour more traditional, big malt and alcohol balanced with high hop presence, barley-sugar more muted, some burnt toffee and raw candy sugar. Full body, oily mouthfeel, very long finish. A beautiful drop to sip and savour.

UPDATED: DEC 6, 2023 Bottle sample at a tasting. Slightly hazy copper-bronze with beige head. The aroma has notes of dried fruits, caramel, alcohol, malt, citrus. The flavor is sweet and very bitter with notes of alcohol, citrus, caramel, dried fruits. Full-bodied.

UPDATED: SEP 16, 2023 Has the taste and feel of something between a west coast dipa and a bitter barley wine, but a brutally bitter one at that. Long lingering bitterness for hours after you've finished sipping. Gotta love it and yes I do.

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2023 Bottle at Coriasso's, served in a snifter glass. Brown reddish color, medium head with short retention, creamy lacing. Aroma of caramel candied fruits, resins, hops. Medium to full body, rough texture, average carbonation. Bitter finish. Taste follows the aroma. Too hoppy.

UPDATED: MAR 29, 2023 Had this one many times before, but this my first review. It’s the 2023 edition. Poured into a stout pint glass, and it yielded a beautiful pour. Thin, white head and a mahogany body. Nose is sweet malts with hints of stone fruits. Incredible hop bitterness surfaces after the sweetness hits first. Very smooth for a high ABV. Cheers!
