COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Editor’s Note: This is a higher alcohol version of the British Mackeson Stout. Formerly brewed in the United States by Boston Beer Co. at their Cincinnati location (the old Hudepohl brewery). Presently brewed at the Carib Brewery in Trinidad (and St. Kitts). This is the version that is commonly exported to South East Asia Like every other hard-worker that you know, you consider Friday to be the best day of the week because at the end of it is a reward for five days of traffic, deadlines and trying to exceed your bosses’ expectations. Besides looking forward to two days without an alarm, an after-work ‘lime’ is when you permit yourself to indulge in something you’ve had a hankering for all week – It’s dark, on the brink of sweetness and one is definitely not enough. With a designated driver on duty, you place your first order for a Mackeson. It’s the perfect warm-up for everything that the rest of the night has to offer. It never disappoints and ensures that you don’t either. This instantly satisfying, full-bodied milk stout is perfect for a generation that thrives on immediate and long-lasting gratification in their personal, professional and pleasurable pursuits. Its roasted malt aroma is a superb opener for its dark, creamy, semi-sweet goodness that finishes with a hint of a coffee-like flavour.

ReV2 (262) - Northampton, Northamptonshire, ENGLAND - JAN 25, 2023
UPDATED: JAN 25, 2023 Bottle from a small store in St. Lucia. Pours black with aroma of cocoa, taste is like a weak stout with lactose? Fairly average and I really can't understand the high score for this one.

Skallish (34) - Georgia, USA - DEC 30, 2022
UPDATED: DEC 30, 2022 Definitely one of my favorite stouts! It checks all the boxes for an outstanding to world class stout. Only the aroma was a little less than perfect. You’ll enjoy it.

midovark (6294) - Alkmaar, NETHERLANDS - JUN 16, 2022
UPDATED: JUN 16, 2022 Bottle at the Airbnb, yet another ‘1001 beers…’ from Carrefour. Pours black with a beige head. It’s got chocolate, nuts, sugars and light coffee both on the nose and in taste. It’s leaning towards the sweet side with just a hint if bitterness. A tad sugary but otherwise pretty okay.

puboflyons (5056) - Allenstown, New Hampshire, USA - SEP 7, 2020
UPDATED: SEP 7, 2020 From the 12 fl oz bottle brewed in Florida. Deep dark brown to black pour and tan head. The aroma is roasted dark malts, char, chocolate, coffee, with a floral hint. Smooth light body. The taste is sweet but I also get a kind of vegetable oil character with those dark malts.

imdownthepub (26051) - Banbury, Oxfordshire, ENGLAND - JUN 24, 2020
UPDATED: JUN 24, 2020 Bottled, 355ml a gift from Ian, many thanks. Black with beige head. So a stronger version of the famous original and boy is it sweet, saccharin along with sweet liquorice, coconut milk notes. The roasty malts do come through. There is a salty chemical note in the background. It's fine.
