Clear dark black - red brown colour with a small to average, fizzy, fair lacing, mostly lasting, off-white head. Aroma is moderate to heavy malty, roasted, chocolate, dark chocolate, coffee, strong coffee, dusty coffee. Flavor is moderate to heavy sweet and moderate bitter with a long duration, coffee, chocolate, sweet chocolate - cofffee, dark malt, sweet malt. Bottle at home – originally came from Beer Dock in Crewe I guess. Crikey this one is lively ! Froth foaming out of the bottle, and completely filling my 1/3 pint glass. Might be something to do with the fact that its Best Before date is over a year ago ! Soon settled down though. A very strong nose of aniseed, treacle, marmalade and just a hint of coffee. The coffee comes through in the flavour though, together with dark chocolate and liquorice. Very warming at the finish. A bit too carbonated to be a classic porter, but a very good drink in itself.

Flavor is roasted-moderate bitter, light to moderate sweet, light coffee-acidity. Medium bodied. Finishes strong roast, ash, rather bitter.

Tap @Taphouse, Cph. Pours clear dark chestnut to black with a small, creamy beige film head. Aroma has coffee aplenty, dark chocolate, roasted, cocoa. Medium to low carbonation, fine dry and quite creamy mouthfeel. Flavour has good malty sweetness, astringent roasted malts, coffee, a touch of smoke. A bit short in finish.
