UPDATED: DEC 31, 2022 Bottled. Black colour with a mediumsized creamy brown head, that leaves some lace. Aroma is chocolate, cocoa, some coffee and mild spiciness. fFlavour is cocoa, liquorice, chocolate, mild earthy, leathery and some slight toffee to it. Very nice considering the rather low abv.

21-01-2018; bottle; drank in Voss, Norway (bought at Saveur Bière). The looks of the beer are superb! I love it. The beer was dark brown when pouring, but in the glass it is so dark, it is pitch black. Not even a strong flashlight can send light trough the beer. I love it. On top of the beer a nice layer of brown walnut coloured foam is formed. Foam retention is rather low and a minimal drape is formed after some time. Lovely looking beer, a good start already. The smell of the beer is very nice. It is a typical Porter smell. There are some lovely aromas of roasted and toasted malts. I smell some chocolate, coffee, a hint of smoke and some lovely sea salted caramel. The smoke aroma is very nice. Hops give some fruity and floral notes. Very nice. There is also a nice nutty taste, that goes lovely together with the smokey touches. Nice touches of almond and walnut. Great addition to a porter. To bring this beer to perfection, the smell could have been a bit stronger. The taste has the same 'flaw'. It should have been just a bit stronger, to make it perfect. There are some lovely malt flavours, giving chocolate and coffee...being both sweet and bitter. The hazelnut and walnut give a nice smooth nutty touch to the beer...not to strong, but just an interesting touch that makes you think of what that familiar taste was. Hops give some nice earthy and floral notes. The beer is well balanced. Just before swallowing the beer, the hazelnut becomes really apparent. Very nice. Just wish it was a touch stronger. The palate of the beer is nice. It has a nice full body, smooth texture in the front but a bit sticky in the back and medium high carbonation. For a porter carbonation is high. The finish of the beer is nice. It has nice nutty touches, toasty and roasty malts and a fruity note. Lovely. All in all, a great beer, like I expected from a colllab between Põhjala and Lervig. But, to make it a 5/5 score, smell and taste could be a bit stronger. Than it'll be perfect.

Pitch black with a thick creamy dark brown head. Intense sticky cocoa and chocolate. Intense cocoa and dark licorice with a bit of heavy treacle and some rich cocoa. A bit of leather and rich earthiness. Intense and balanced. Rich espresso and molasses. Pretty damn tasty.

Bottle @ home. Black with a small head. Aroma heavy malty (roasted, dark chocolate, dried dark fruits, walnut). Flavor medium sweet, chocolate, walnut, fruit, ending light bitter and dry. Light body, medium carbonated. Nice.

Good nose with roastiness and some choco, dried fruits, very dark with a good tan head, light/medium body, silky, average carbonation, taste is quite intense for a porter of 5.5%...very good.
