UPDATED: MAR 10, 2024 A lightly hazed dark amber ale with a very thin lacing white head. In aroma, sweet fruity malt with light grapeskins, light cork, light ground cherry, light lactic notes, very nice. In mouth, ground cherry with cork, light buttery notes, light grapeskins, very nice. On tap at BKK location.

UPDATED: MAY 12, 2023 DØE Ølfestival 2023. Cloudy amber with a lasting white head. Fruity aroma with peach and prunes. Sweet fruity flavour with peach, apricot and prunes.

UPDATED: MAY 1, 2019 (nez > vineux (on sent le sauternes !), moyenne (carbo > bof), du gros vin, bravo pour l’essai, expérience rare) (je suis très déçu - après avoir donné 10/10 à la version vieillie en fûts de Chardonnay : comme quoi, avec un même brassin, le type de fût fait vraiment varier les choses...)

UPDATED: FEB 5, 2019 Ciemnorubinowe o winnym, octowym nosie. Pomimo swej mocy wybitnie lekkie i owocowe; wiśnie i suszone figi. Brak nut przeciwstawnych, kontrastujących (być może szkoda). Za pierwszym, kompotowym wrażeniem, kryje się szlachetna zgnilizna o eleganckiej dyskrecji.

Bottled from Drinks&Gifts. Amber to brown colored, small head. Nice Sauternes nose, sweet and vinous. Unfortenately, the base beer does not blend very well with the wine, the sweetness is struggling with the bitterness and the dry malty flavor. Nice try, but not really succesful.

KØLF 100218. Dark brown color with a beige head. Aroma is oak, caramel, vinous. Flavor is oak, caramel, vinous, alcohol, vanilla, wood. Medium to full body. Nice beer.

Bottle. Pretty clear deep amber to brown body with a small, dense tan head. Body is quite oily actually. Aroma is dark malt,ripe fruit, alcohol, some acetone, vanilla and wood. Flavor gives a strange feeling of being sweet, but not really tasting sweet, like the sweetness getting neutralized by some acid and high alcohol. There is dark malt, something sour like vinegar, wood, vanilla, dry fruit. Full bodied and long lasting aftertaste. It’s sure a complex beer with lots of things going on, but it is really not my thing this, feels a bit to raw and unfinished even if it has quite a good balance as well. I got pretty mixed emotions here.

Bottle. A more or less unclear brown beer with a small beige head. Oily pour. Vinous, oxidized aroma with leather, prunes, alcohol, some dark malts and a touch of baked apples. It’s full-bodied, close to flat, and warming, with flavors of alcohol, dessert wine, sweet apple cider, prunes and a wee hint of balsamic vinegar. Cellar notes and fruit acid chimes in towards the finish. Lots of good things going on here, but it’s sure not a beer you bring to a vorspiel. This is more suited for a quiet time in the favorite chair. 180210
