UPDATED: MAR 20, 2024 35,5cl bottle from Sip, Tallinn. Pours hazy brownish with a modest, white head. Malty, slightly herbal and fruity with notes of caramel, nuts and yeast. Medium to moderate sweet with medium flavour intensity and ditto bitterness. Quite drinkable.

UPDATED: NOV 13, 2023 Bottle coming from Amstein, St-Légier. A right and rainy weather to enjoy this old ale, a way that I particulary love. Perfect with our home made pizza, brown body, a bit troubled, smooth carbonation, white foam. This one is well balanced, subtle, better at the final, malty, smooth, lovely touch of toffee, good quality of hop, an harmony with the different ingredients, a bit woody and boozy, great one.

UPDATED: JUN 30, 2022 375ml bottle from RusBeerShop in Moscow. 2020 vintage. Pours opaque brown with a medium-sized off-white head. Aroma is dried fruit, caramel, nuts. Taste is light sweet, caramel, tannins, a touch boozey. Light bitter finish. Medium bodied.

UPDATED: AUG 22, 2021 This feels like a return to prior form after a big hop bomb in 2020. Fresh, the 2020 vintage was something else and maybe polarizing enough to see Coopers tone this one down by 5 IBUs. For me, I’d like to see a return of Simco next year.

UPDATED: FEB 21, 2021 Straddles the line between refinement and grit. Like how wealthy Australians are portrayed in Hollywood; fine wine and class, but also looking like they're fresh off a horse, and probably drunk.

There's an almost 'VB' esq taste upfront, but if you persist you'll come across a strong, dignified palate. It's like persisting through three episodes of Married at First Sight then realising it's actually a remarkable critique of 16th century French poetry
