| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Sep 2, 2009 [Bottle] Pours reddish brown with a tiny light tan head. Aroma is mostly spice, along with a lot of raisin. Taste has a good deal of raisin again, along with cinnamon, ginger, pear, some roasted malt, plum, a little orange zest, vinous notes, and nutmeg. Medium mouthfeel, with a long finish. I had this at around a 3.6 when cold, but the longer that I drank it and allowed it to warm, the more the taste grew on me. Maybe I was just in the mood for something like this, but I really liked it, and it was quite like a dessert in a glass. With a little tweaking, this could become a really stunning drink. madquacker (724), Canberra ACT, Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 14/20 | Aug 21, 2009 Plummy as one would suspect but without being over the top. Spices and almost like a shiraz. Very nice. Redoak has not disappointed yet. Enjoyit (1772), Vadum, Denmark
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | Jun 14, 2009 Clear dark amber of color with a small off white head. An aroma of spice, sweets and cinnamon. A flavor of spice, no sweets, more spice and cinnamon, dry and more spice. To much spice for me. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 20, 2009 Small bottle. Cloudy brown pour with a rapidly receding head. Aroma of sour cherries and dates. Lovely sour ale character, spicy sour cherries, gingerbread. Slightly yoghurty lactic notes in the tart dry finish. Fantastic. Davros (248), Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Apr 19, 2009 Pours dark copper, medium-sized tan head that quickly fades.
Aroma is a heady concoction of brandy, roasted malts, plums, toast, treacle a nutmeg. Quite a mouthful! Or nose-full, I guess.
Sweet/tangy/sour unripe plums provide a dominant flavour, which I really don’t remember from last time I had this? This is followed by some delicate roasted malt and finishes with some sweet cookie dough. Not what I expecting from a christmas ale, but very interesting and quite tasty! No bitterness whatsoever from hops or roasted malt.
Mouthfeel is quite oily/slick. Good carbonation though. baggio (199), norrtälje, Sweden

A beer from my favourite australian microbrewery!
Apperance: Dark brown with a minimal head. Minimal lacing too.
Aroma: Fruitcake, Berries, Wood, Roasted malt.
Flavor: Fruit, Christmas pudding, Berries, Spices (nutmeg among others), Roasted malt.
Palate: Smooth and rich. Starts of quite sweet but there is a hint of bitterness at the end. Very drinkable despite it’s huge flavorprofile!
An excellent beer from Red Oak in Sydney / Australia. I hope i can get to try more of their beers at my next visit! chicagodri (1072), Chicago, Illinois, USA
