raphael (1791) - Portland, Oregon, USA - FEB 7, 2024UPDATED: FEB 7, 2024 Smelling black pepper, wood, alcohol, darkest chocolate, distant bubblegum. Flavor surprisingly soft, strong roasted malt, resin, milk chocolate and alcohol, a bit sharp, doesn’t feel stout-ish on my palate.. kind of numb finish. Darkest brown with modest khaki head.
hman43 (4413) - Pinehurst, North Carolina, USA - JAN 14, 2024UPDATED: JAN 14, 2024 It pours very dark brown with a tan head. Head retention is low. It has roasted aromas up front with some coffee. There is a faint burnt quality in the background and a hint of smoke. It has roasted and coffee flavors with some licorice mixed in. There are some earthen elements in support with herbs and slight citrus. It has a full body with pleasant alcohol warming. Overall, a good combination of malts and hops makes this a very pleasant beer.

notalush (7123) - Denver, Colorado, USA - JAN 6, 2021UPDATED: JAN 6, 2021 Nitro can - about what you’d expect appearance-wise for a nitro beer - aroma and flavor heavy on roast and bitterness (a bit extreme on the palate at times), with touches of smoke around the edges - lots of coffee character and some dark fruit in the background - I appreciate how relatively dry it is considering how sweet so many breweries are making imperial stouts these days - alcohol burns a bit on the back end, lessening the enjoyment a little - fairly good.
