COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
!Rate the Jahrgangs/Vintage version here too! The Original Schlenkerla Lentbeer is an unfiltered smokebeer, brewed according to the Bavarian Purity Law of 1516. Bottom-fermenting yeast gives the reddish brown lentbeer a natural cloudiness. Its smokey aroma is already noticeable in the smell, combined with a fine hoppy note. In the drink the fullbodied, highly drinkable lentbeer shows its strong malty flavour, rounded up with the smokey taste and a light bitterness. Due to the nourishing yeast, the Original Schlenkerla Lentbeer has the "Brotzeit already included" (German word for afternoon snack). Served / Sold: - Only during lent from Ash Wednesday to Easter Data: Original Gravity: 14.5% Alcohol: 5.5% EBU: 32

Ibrew2or3 (10533) - Tempe, Arizona, USA - MAR 22, 2024
UPDATED: MAR 22, 2024 Pint can pours with a deep copper mahogany colored body that supports a light tan head of foam. The aroma offers up inviting levels of nutty smoky goodness followed closely by smooth smelling malts leading to additional smooth smokiness. The taste delivers thick smoky goodness that pulls up smooth sweet malts that become edged with faint dark fruity esters and some pleasing chocolate notes. Toward the finish it just swirls around with additional upwellings of smooth pork nuanced smoke and sweet malts to chocolate malts. This comes across with pleasing savory lasting smoky goodness.

UPDATED: OCT 18, 2023 Last dive @Grand Delancy. Very dark brown on copper brew, lathery cookie dough head. Smokey charcoal pizza crust & burnt paper nose. Somewhat acidic, savory, mildly smokey sausage grease & charred fruit. Gentle astringency. Nicely lathery & slick. Somewhat sweet, trying to get dry. Great.

Moretum (2112) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - SEP 5, 2023

beerbandits (603) - - JUN 6, 2023
UPDATED: JUN 6, 2023 Beige foamy top. Smokey aroma of malts and sausage. Taste of caramel, rye, brown sugar, wood, smoked sausage, bacon. Rich and sweet smoke notes, not heavy at all. Smooth body with moderate carbonation. This beer is top of the food chain of smoked beers! Great job

thegreenrooster (6940) - St.louis, Missouri, USA - MAY 18, 2023
UPDATED: MAY 18, 2023 Pour is a dark brown with a large white head. Aroma is smoky with plenty of bacon and ham. Flavor is pretty much all smoky bacon and ham. While this is a well done beer it is kind of a one trick pony with the smoke. I admire the effort but this is not really for me.

ERB92 (2187) - Røst, NORWAY - APR 9, 2023
UPDATED: APR 9, 2023 Aroma of malt, smoke, wood, hay, leather and hints of bread and caramel. Deep amber with a off-white head. Medium + sweet and medium bitter. Medium body with average carbonation. Overall a nice and interesting Rauchbier.
