Cask in the Royal Oak, Borough. Alround rating: Thin, but a mix of the minerally water, just the right amount of roasty sweetness, small peppery hop all accounts to this balancing very nicly indeed. Had to stay for a pint and a half as i enjoyed it to much.

Cask at Royal Oak, London. September 08. Poured brown with a small white head. Aroma and flavour of chocolate and fruit. A light bitterness is evident in the finish. My least preferred of the Harveys brews I’ve had there.

Mildly sweet. Dark brown color. Malty chocolate mouth. Had this with a ton of other Harvey beers.

Tried on cask at the Royal Oak. Well if you like the Harveys house yeast you’re gonna like this, this beer showcases it nicely, not a massive beer by any means but flavourful with a surprising dry bitter finish.

At brew wharf. Ruby body with small rocky head. Malty nose with wheat notes. Taste of malts, roasty and a bit oliy. Bitter with some hops in the finish.

Gravity cask in the brewery sample room. Red/brown with a good off white head. Typical mild, malty, light with very little hops. Refreshing.

Cask at the Royal Oak. Lovely dark ruby beer, but the flavour and aroma is like a loaf of bread. This style, as ever, fails to impress me. It does not surprise me that the style is almost gone. Lawnmower beer.

Cask. At Royal Oak (Borough). Deep ruby brown with a very small off-white frothy head. Mild oily roast aroma, surprisingly bitter and dry - a weak generic lightly resiny bitterness. The taste isn’t bad, oily roast, dry, the bitterness seems a bit harsh in the finish. Has a light, oily mouthfeel and a slightly harsh aftertaste - not bad, per se, but not quite there.
