COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
One of our orginal 3 brews dating back to 2004, this has always been the best seller. A well balanced special bitter, good biscuitiy malt balanced by a good dose of Styrian Golding aroma hops.

[8311-20160520] Cask. Fruity grains aroma. Clear, orange red body with a long-lasting creamy white head. Smooth light balsa woody straw grains flavour has a weird aftertaste. Medium body. Average, didn’t care for the aftertaste. (6/3/5/3+/12) 2.9

jercraigs (14874) - Toronto, Ontario, CANADA - JUN 22, 2016
2016-05-20. Crisp golden amber body, creamy beige head and lace. Aroma is mild, lightly fruity with a creamy malt quality to it. Flavour is oddly fruity, lightly bitter, off tangy gooseberry quality to the fruit that is not unpleasant necessarily but super weird. Smooth light bodied palate, soft carbonation. 6/4/6/3/12-13 On cask at The Twisted Hop, Christchurch, NZ.

The head is medium, the body brown and cloudy. It smells fruity, bit peach, hoppy. The taste is hoppy, fruity, peach, aromatic, bit grassy, peel. Bit more bitter in the aftertaste. 3.5

Cask handpump in Woolston. Hazy dark amber color, light tan head, good retention. Aroma of earthy citrus. Taste is wet earth, brown bread dough. Very nice.

beer-yum (3705) - Wellington, NEW ZEALAND - JUN 8, 2013
UPDATED: JAN 10, 2015 Enjoyable brew from handpump at cellar temperature. Restrained aroma and golden brown in colour. Fruity malt flavour with a mild bitter finish makes this an enjoyable (and sessionable) brew.

what i got from this was a ludicrous amount of fruit. a tropical punch bowl in a way. guava, pineapple, orange, and i don’t know what else. oddly i got a very mild hop bitterness here, and the sweetness was a little over the top, almost like fruit juice, but the complexity of the fruit made up for it.

Right, I’ve had this beer before and enjoyed it but this time- "handpump" at Volstead (put into bags)- it does nothing for me. For a real ale, its clarity is as clear as it could be. Head retention was good despite being served from a bag. The aroma is of diacetyl and vinegar, which surprised me. Taste is malt, complex fruits, but is unfortunately dominated by diacetyl/butterscotch. I know British ales are allowed a certain diacetyl level, but the amount of it in this beer over powers all else, makes me wonder whether it was neglected and ignored it the fermenter, and leaves me missing the $11 I paid for it. Step it up Hop, and stop selling in bags!

fairly carmelly with decent hop character and good bitterness, but feels a bit worn down. Moderate bitter finish. Can’t blame them it is not fresh. Just glad I got to try this.

Beer engine at Hashigo Zake Aroma: aromatic floral hops and hint of yeast; Appearance: Amber, short head, fine foam and minimal lacing; Taste: robust bitterness, some bread or toffee undercurrents, rounded but no real hint of salt, sour or sweetness; Palate: medium bodied, mild carbonation; Overall: Quite a pleasant drink
