Commercial Description:
Dark de Triomphe is our fabulous stout. Rich, dry, full-bodied with a thick and creamy head. The bitterness comes from a large addition of ‘Challenger’ hops in the copper. This is a hugely popular beer with customers and barstaff alike, so much so that not one drop of any other stout is sold in any of our pubs!

A fairly light and watery stout. Some soot, easily drinkable. An OK substitute for Guinness, I suppose, it actually has a little more flavour than the original.

On tap at The Frog & Rosbif, Paris. Very dark brown with a creamy tan head. Chocolate, roatsed coffee and salty meatiness. Sufficiently dry. Body could be fuller. A solid stout with hints of rauchbier.

Had this one at the Frog and Princess in Paris. A good looking stout with a light tan head and a dark, murky body. Burnt coffee was quite prominent in the aroma. Taste was also of some burnt coffee and not so bad. Mouthfeel was thinner than I’d like, and it was served somewhat colder than necessary.

Black nitro pour with white head. Simplistic stale coffee aroma. Thin but creamy nitro body. Super simple coffee beer with almost no character, no roast. An insipid sourness like dirty laundry doesn’t help either.

Reddish dark brown with a big head. Some nutty dark malt nose with chocolate. Thin, tart with bitter coffee notes. Subtle chocolate late. Like cold Bustelo...that’s not good.

Cask at the F&B in Paris. Very dark brown color with a creamy tan head. Dark malty aroma. Medium body with mild carbonation. Smooth dark toast with floral hop. Finishes nearly dry, and florally hopped. Seems English to me.

Draught at The Frog & Rosbif. Aroma has some coffee, caramel and roast. Black coloured beer with a beautifull thick, creamy, beige head. The taste is slightly bitter, rather thin has roast coffee and some carbonation. Good brew.

Pression at The Frog & Rosbif, Rue de St Denis, Paris. Black with tan head. Really sweet and malty with a thin palate for a stout. Some roasty notes and a touch of hop, quite heavily carbonated for some reason.
