floydian1 (1989) - FNQ, Australia, - SEP 30, 2023UPDATED: SEP 30, 2023 375ml can from Oak Barrel, Sydney (BB 21/8/24).
Certainly a big beer with mainly tropical fruit hop notes on top of a lean malt bill. A touch of resinous hop bitterness in there as well. Smooth and dangerously drinkable. Hazy golden appearance, decent white head.n
tp35282 (1518) - Sydney, AUSTRALIA - AUG 8, 2021UPDATED: AUG 8, 2021 Can. Pours a deep gold, with a slight orange tinge and big, frothy white head that laces heavily. Quite juicy aromas, with mango, passionfruit, lychee, papaya, guava and apricot, but there’s a resinous pine element lurking beneath. Oh it’s big and complex. Full of oily, bitter pine and tangerine/orange peel, sweet caramel and toffee, followed with passionfruit, mango, stone fruit and berries. Slight hint of grog towards the end, but it’s so drinkable for a big beer because the underlying balance between bitterness and sweet malts is perfect. It improved as it sat and settled
PubTun39 (86) - AUSTRALIA - SEP 13, 2019UPDATED: SEP 13, 2019 Hazy orange colour. Slightly sweet but full of bitterness. Intense but handles smoothly. THIS is how an IIPA should be done.
jredmond (10321) - New York, New York, USA - MAY 19, 2019UPDATED: MAY 19, 2019 Can shared with Ev in Manly. Pours a hazy amber body with white lace. Nose is maple, sweet citrus and astringent soapy hop. Surprisingly not too boozy for 9% - which is a relief.
d_a_croft (22) - AUSTRALIA - MAR 26, 2019UPDATED: MAR 26, 2019 Thursday is the new Friday yeah? Shout out to the people taking time off this month... not sure why you’d do that to be honest, but each to their own 🤷🏻♂️
This afternoon’s post-work beer hails from Reservoir (pronounced Res-err-vore I’m told... 🤦🏻♂️) Vic and fresh out of the brewery fridge.
Drinkable by the 4pk, better get yourself a case...
One of the nicest balanced Double IPAs kicking around and at 9% is extremely sneaky on the booze. Pointless me picking apart a beer as easy to down as this and the nice people at Hawkers seem to have done all the hard work for me... so I’ll just quote some details from the hawkers website-
“
IIPA
Alc/Vol 9.0% - IBU 100
It’s all about the hops. Big, fruity, flavourful. Unmistakably a huge IPA

goodkarma (104) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 26, 2019UPDATED: MAR 26, 2019 It’s again a really clean IIPA and leaves me wanting more. Just a well balanced beer.
gmone1 (139) - Melbourne, AUSTRALIA - MAR 22, 2019UPDATED: MAR 22, 2019 Oh yeah! Like all other Hawkers beers this is perfect. A flavour filled IIPA that is so enjoyable you might be tempted for a second!
oldbatchman (271) - - DEC 1, 2018UPDATED: DEC 1, 2018 Can. Pours a lovely golden amber with a firm white head. Aroma of malt, citrus, melon and pine. Wonderfully rich malt and citrus flavours. Bitterness is restrained yet lingers. Silky mouthfeel. At 9% this is dangerously drinkable. A cracking beer.
lpavett (4) - - NOV 29, 2018 does not count UPDATED: NOV 29, 2018 The usual characteristics you'd expect from a double IPA. But just a little more subtle as far as being a double. Very easy and delicious drinking. Do recommend!
mountainofcandee (5) - - NOV 29, 2018 does not count UPDATED: NOV 29, 2018 Amber in colour, this IIPA has a fruity vacation vibe. Sweet in flavour I could drink this in a hammock on a desert island while snacking on a variety of cheeses. A beer that pairs well with quince paste.
