| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2009 Bottle. 2009 Vintage. Bright, hazy amber pour with a beige head that lasts well. Aroma is malty and hoppy and has notes of orange, caramel, yeast and apricot. Flavour is similar: malt, toffee and citrus stand out and there are also hints of raisins, stonefruit and yeast. Smooth mouthfeel with a bit of prickly carbonation and a long finish that starts out sweet and ends quite bitter. A very good ale, will have to get a couple of bottles to cellar for a year or two. bluebetty (132), Australia

Heaps on the nose with malt, caramel, spices and piney hops dominating. Lots of malt sweetness initially followed by plenty of hops bitterness near the end. Great beer. jonno (596), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 11, 2009 a very boozy beer. Lots of whisky and port on the nose and in the mouth, accompanied by dark fruit and candi sugar sweetness. Body was a little thin, but otherwise top notch. A nice winter warmer. nate2g (1105), Brisbane, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Oct 10, 2009 Bottle. Pours dark brown with a creamy white head. Beautiful aroma of caramel, chocolate, plums, raisins and spice. Fantastic flavour too - dark fruit, chocolate, spice all compliment each other. Smooth mouthfeel and enough bitterness to balance the sweet malt and fruit out nicely. Another classic beer from a great brewer. Big thanks to Jonno for sharing! Chrism86 (280), Melbourne, Australia
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Sep 18, 2009 2007 Vintage, pretty pleased to find it! Pours ruddy red/brown with a creamy head that seems to build from nothing. Nose has rich malt, caramel & toffee in abundance with apricot that you come to expect from english ale yeast. Palate is really malty but has plenty of carbonation so delivers a very creamy mouthfeel. Finishes with abv popping up and some hop spice. Would definitely recommend stashing some away for a few years. Is a completely different beer to what it once was, in a good way! SilkTork (4184), Rochester, Kent, England

| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | May 5, 2009 500ml bottle. Emerson’s pint glass. pours a opaque light reddish brown with an off white head. Nice hoppy nose that managed to cut through my cold. Can’t dedect anything else but it might have more. Nice malty flavour and a good bite. You can taste the strenght but not the alcohol itself. Slight after taste but I think that might be the cold again. Could possibly do with an extra handfull of flavour hops. Like it, will have another. UnholyBrewing (448), Melbourne(Mulgrave), Australia

Complex on the nose, very fruity for the style, and full of flavor for sure. Nice dark red color, like velvet to go with the way it goes down. Alcohol totally hidden by the multitude of flavors. Complex finish, to much to pick from, but definitely an empressive brew.
