UPDATED: JUN 22, 2023 Van het vat bij Knoblach. Iets mistig amber kleur, witte kraag. Medium zoet, vers brood, hint van toast, mineralen, licht grassig en goed bitter, redelijk droog, broodkorst, bittere finish. Iets stroever dan de Rauschla.

UPDATED: JUN 16, 2023 Deep amber with a frothy, white head that lingers. Rich, cereal-based aroma with peppery notes. Taste is grassy bitter the whole way through. Dry, bitter finish with a lingering roasted tone. Medium-bodied, mild carbonation. Chewy. Good.

UPDATED: MAY 8, 2023 I Draught /I Very good, very lacey head over almost clear amber beer. Leafy, dry autumn leaves, some toast. Chestnuts, dry toasted malts, dry brown bread with thick crust. In the finish there appears a light smoked flavour, almost as from Rauchmalz. Medium bodied, bit slick, well-carbonated. Flavour lingering out. It could be indeed the grandfather of all Märzen - in the good way.

UPDATED: APR 30, 2023 500 ml bottle. Unclear amber orange with a fluffy head. Caramel, roasted malt, orange and lemon zest, grassy hops, sourdough, basement notes, light grapefruit. Dry zesty bitterness, malty sweetness. Full bodied, oily texture, lively to soft carbonated, dry zesty caramel finish. Excellent Märzen!

UPDATED: APR 9, 2023 Bottle, 500 ml at Ambasada. Cloudy dark orange to amber with medium white head. Malty, grainy, bready, some caramel. Sweetish. Some grassy notes. Dry and somewhat bitter finish.

UPDATED: FEB 2, 2023 Kupferfarben, marginal hefetrüb und mit sahnigem Schaumhäubchen erfreut das Knoblach Urmärzen das Auge des Testers. In der äußerst intensiven Geruchsprobe sorgt eine runde Hopfenherbe, welche den Bogen über Bitterorange bis hin zu feinen Kräutern spannt, über deutlich karamelligem Malz für Wohlwollen. Im feinspritzigen Antrunk kommt eine milde herbale Hopfung mit dezenter Bitterorange über toastig-gerstigem Malz durch. Eine dezente, perfekt proportionierte Honignote bringt eine lediglich angedeutete Süße mit sich. Bei milder Rezenz wird eine schöne Vollmundigkeit geboten. Im Abgang sorgt neben etwas Malzbittere eine aromatische erdig-kräuterige Hopfenherbe für ein solides Finale. Ein sorgfältig, in aller Breite und reich an verschiedensten Nuancen ausgestattetes Märzen. Großartig!

UPDATED: OCT 3, 2022 Bottled 500ml. -from Ambasada Zagreb. Deep golden/amberish coloured, medium sized off-white head, grain and light caramel in the nose. Sweet malty, grainy, caramel, touch of bread and herbs with dry sweetish finish.

UPDATED: JUL 16, 2022 Mild smell of malt. Hazy golden colour, white head. Aroma of malt, grass. Bitter. Lively carbon. Very pure.

UPDATED: MAY 26, 2022 Draught @ Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto, Helsinki. Malty, sweetish and slightly bready with some grassy notes and earthiness. Okay.

UPDATED: MAY 21, 2022 0,5l on tap @ Pikkulintu Ruttopuisto. Pours slightly cloudy deep golden with a low head. Aroma is clean slightly grainy malts. Flavor is full clean malts, bitterness, crisp hops in the finish. Sturdy but refreshing. Excellent balance.
