COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Bottle
A strong Belgian brown ale.
After extensive tasting, trying to fulfil increasingly strict requirements, the brewmaster obtains a creamy, dark Belgian brown ale: Kasteelbier. The quality of the past is still unmatched and the beloved taste is very much of the present. Kasteelbier is a dark, artisanal beer, soft and mild, full and creamy. It can age for many, many years, as indicated on the bottle. 11% abv, serve at 12°C (54°F) (Translation by Martinus)

ReuvenSmienk (850) - Houten, NETHERLANDS - DEC 18, 2023

Moretum (2102) - Vienna, AUSTRIA - SEP 18, 2023

UPDATED: JUL 4, 2023 Bottle pours dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is prune, cherry, toffee, light vinegar. Quite sweet on the flavor, dark fruits and toffee with light spice and acetic notes. Full body, fairly smooth. Decent. When you drink this in the country it’s like the song “Honkytonk Badonkerdonk”

pindolaire (622) - SPAIN - JUN 2, 2023

UPDATED: APR 15, 2023 0,33 l bottle. Pours dark brown with small, medium lasting beige head. Aroma is sweet, caramel and malts, dried fruit, plums in particular. Taste is heavy sweet and medium bitter. Body is full, oily and almost thick. Alcohol is present, but well in the background. Finish is long, sweet caramel followed by lasting bitter sweet feeling on tongue. Nice one.

Graby (145) - Bø, NORWAY - FEB 28, 2023
UPDATED: FEB 28, 2023 33cL bottle at home after a year and a half of storage. Pours mostly clear dark brown with a slight red tint, head is light brown and lasting. Aroma is mostly sweet. Notes of dark sugar syrup, Danish rye bread, red wine, slight vinegar. Flavour is sweet and intense. Similar notes as in the aroma in addition to caramel and with a peculiar twist of cola and some slight notes of pine and dried figs. Bitterness in the finish is almost nonexistent. Texture is oily, warmth from the high alcohol content, and some carbonation as it settles, but quickly disappearing. 7-5-8-5-16
