Bottle. Pours dark burnt copper with a big tan head. Aroma is sweet with notes of caramel, brown sugar strawberries and boiled sweets. Flavour is also pretty sweet but with a hint of bitterness to balance things. Flavours of toffee, raisins, sweet malt, brown sugar and a touch of chocolate, Nouthfeel is very smooth, almost creamy, fairly full bodied with the bitterness coming at the end. Another very good beer from Renaissance Brewing.

500ml bottle. Batch 0073. From a tulip glass while sitting by the fire. Slightly hazy dark red hue with large mostly lasting bubbly becoming creamy beige head with excellent lacing. Beautiful complex malty fruity (especially raisin) aromas with strong aroma of fresh leather at one stage of temperature. Flavour is moderately sweet and moderately bitter, with a long mostly bitter finish. Medium to full bodied, smooth, softly carbonated. Thoroughly enjoyable drinking experience.

Bottled. A hazy deep red beer with a tan head. The aroma has notes of malt and fruits. The flavor is sweet malty with notes of fruits, leading to a bitter finish. It has a nice body. Thanks Papsoe for sharing.

Deep dark red body with short light tan head. Complex malty aroma, notes of dry caramel, smoke, raisin and pepper. Taste is fairly smooth, a little liquorice, some ash, cocoa notes, almost full in body and certainly drinkable.

Unclear amber of color with a long beige head. An aroma of fruits, apples and sweets. A flavor of spice, fruits and dry.

Bottle. Beautiful deep mahogany with a big tan bubbly head that shows long retention. Very rich malty aroma. Delicious rich malt flavours: brown bread crusts, chocolate, molasses. Lifted nicely by raisin fruit character in the finish. Surprisingly bitter too. Full bodied, richly flavoured, delicious.

On tap: smooth and malty with a slight bitter finish. Very nice. Bottle: completely different beer. chockingly sweet and undrinkable. Query, may have been something wrong with batch/bottle. The above ratting was for on tap. Don’t let me put you off.
