COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Three thousand feet above sea level in the misty mountains of Jamaica, some of the worlds finest Arabica beans are hand picked on their way to becoming Blue Mountain Coffee. Halfway around the world, plump spring barley grows to maturity in the loamy soil of North America while aromatic hops are cutivated to exacting standards. Here in our kettles, these three special ingredients are blended to create a heady mixture of sweet sugar, dark roast, and complex flavor. Please enjoy this brew in moderation.

Aroma is a complex mix of chocolate, coffee and an mild/medium sweetness. The flavor is chocolate, coffee, dark malts and a medium sweet/slightly acidic finish.

This beer is as advertised.....a dessert beer. It’s like drinking chocolate. Great chocolate aroma. Nice dark color. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

From Apr 2007 This one pours from 22oz bottle a pitch black with a very small head of foam. That soon shrunk toi just a small island...is that Java? ;^) The smell is huge! Lots of coffee, chocolate, roasted malt, caramel malt, and some alcohol but the first thing I thought of when I took my first whiff was how much it smelled like a fine Port. The taste is kind of overwhelmingly sweet on first sip. There's a ton of sweet caramel malt, chocolate and molasses and a very strong alcohol presence followed by a good coffee flavour. Further sips in and the coffee becomes a bit more assertive while the sweetness is offset by roasted malt and some hop bitterness, especially near and through the finish. Bottom line: At 12%abv, this one is definitely a sipper but it's a good sipper and one that I would enjoy again if given the opportunity. Thanks to Nutbrown for this sample!!

Very sweet. This is very sticky with slight coffee. Not to bitter but enjoyable. Almost a cream and vanilla comes through. This is almost like a candy bar honestly. Thin fading head. I would get again. But missing a bit. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

2012 vintage sampled at 05-15-16 Public Day. Poured a dark brown with a small off-white sudsy head. Aromas of coffee, sugar, light cream, and chocolate. Flavor had cream and sugar, chocolate, and muted older coffee. That’s to be expected with this an older vintage. Full body, slick texture, soft carbonation, pretty smooth finish.

Great stout. Pours a dark black, with very little head. Nose is coffee, dark roast, a touch of alcohol. Taste follows suit. Plenty of coffee flavor, though it’s not overly bitter. Likewise, the dark roasted malt is dark and full of flavor, but there’s a residual sweetness that cuts some of what could be bitter on the mouthfeel and creates a smooth, chocolatey, and full mouth feel. Finishes with a slightly crispness, and some burn from the high ABV. It all works together though. Great beer.

Sweet chocolate aroma. Appearance is jet black with a thick tan head. Flavor is full of milk chocolate. Mouthfeel is medium with medium carbonation. Overall, it's a good chocolate beer. It has an extract chocolate aroma and flavor, but overall it's solid. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Bomber from parts unknown, served at cellar temperature in a tulip glass.

App.: Deep brown-black with a decent mocha head. Aroma: Coffee, dark chocolate and nuts, dark-roasted maltiness, so much coffee, chocolate and nuts, wow, lightly boozy. Palate: Medium-full body, very creamy and very fine carbonation. Flav.: Tons of coffee, lots of dark chocolate and moderate nuttniness, boozy, so full-bodied and rich; lots of booze, and a very long coffee and dark chocolate finish.

A very big beer. Probably a poor choice for a work night.

A very good, milk shake like beer. Pours a beautiful deep black with thick tan head. Smells of mocha, vanilla and cinnamon. Extremely thick taste. With lots of milk, vanilla, cinnamon and some chocolate and coffee bitterness in the finish. Had in the bottle.
