UPDATED: FEB 25, 2020 Draft taster. Poured dark brown color with an average frothy tan head that mostly lasted with good lacing. Moderate to heavy barrel aged toasted dark malt aroma. Medium to abundant body with a smooth texture and soft carbonation. Moderate to heavy rich sweet flavor with a moderate to heavy boozy sweet finish of medium to long duration. This is a standout beer.

UPDATED: FEB 22, 2020 Draft to taster at Cappy's pour opaque cola brown with thin tan head. Nose caramel, big vanilla, even hint of coconut. Taste raisin, caramel, big vanilla, and even hint of coconut here.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2019 Draft taster @ Alesmith, San Diego. Dark chestnut brown, no head, thick. Quite harsh and boozy bourbon, dried fruits, toffee, caramel, porto-ish, nutty, chocolate, medium bitter. Thick oily mouthfeel, absent carbonation, firm body.

Draft at the brewery. Pours dark brown with a fizzy beige head. Smells like booze, dried fruits, woody malt, and earth. Tastes like booze, dried fruits, woody malt, and earth. Medium body and low/medium.

Vanilla, bourbon, tannis, caramel malts, oak, and light coconut. Taste is slight alcohol spice. Bit to hot in the aftertaste

UPDATED: DEC 2, 2017 Draught at the Anvil taproom. Black color, beige head. Bittersweet taste with toffee, bourbon, dried fruits, oak, chocolate, raisins, resin, a bit of nuts and bread. Bittersweet finish with toffee, raisins, resin, nuts, resin, bourbon and chocolate. Excellent scotch ale.

UPDATED: NOV 24, 2017 Anvil and Stave, San Diego. Lingering soapy head, off white, on a dark rich appearance. Leather and raisins on nose. Fruity depths, some honey. Rich raisins. Delicious.
