Commercial Description:
Just one wooden barrel of this beer was produced. The beer is Stone Imperial Russian Stout, and it was aged for about a year in a used bourbon barrel. From that wooden cask, we were only able to keg up very little. Expect to see the next appearance of this at the Stone Brewing World Bistro & Gardens after it opens early this summer.

Pours dark and rich with a creamy coco color 1/2" head.1st thought would be flavors of malt, coffee, and dark chacolate. Flavor diminishing quickly leaving a sweet remembrace on the palate. Over all one of the best beers i ever had.

Stone irs bb way more harmonious after sampling the bourbon 12th. Notes of bourbon but way less some base beer a little age smooths everything out. Smoother more velvetty drinks nicely. Some roast in finish.dark black pour, brown bu bbly head. Really nice use of barrel.

Not too heavy for a stout and very enjoyable. Has a great nose of coffee and chocolate. Has a flavor of dried fruit, and somewhat of a spicey tone to it. Nice alcohol content of 10%. Gets you to where you need to be.

Bottle from mreusch. THANKS!! Pours a black with a thin head. Aroma is full of rich bourbon, chocolate, molasses and woody notes. Flavor is chocolate, bourbon and prunes. Damn this is smooth and is drinking great right now. Delicous.

Too much of the booze and bourbon came out in this beer. I had it next to the 12th anniversary beer and found it to be much more boozy and out of balance.

On tap at Brouwer’s Back in Black Stout Fest for SBW. Pours black with a decent tan head. Huge aroma of bourbon, oatmeal, roasty malts, and caramel. Taste is the same, slightly buttery. Very smooth, with warming alcohol and a nice roasty oatmeal/chocolate finish.

Hand bottle in a trade, consumed immediately. Black with a thin lacing. Soy, maple, bourbon, chocolate with a bitter hop roast y ness about it. 3.9 overall, but less for its style.

Shared by Rciesla. Not sure what all the fuss is about this one, as i didn’t think this was anything special. I found the finish on this one to be harsh. Tastes like Stone RIS with a hint of bourbon and vanilla.
