COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
Murray's Grand Cru is a tripel made with an authentic Belgian yeast and pours a pale straw colour with a fluffy white head. Hints of banana and bubblegum, backed with dry-hopped spicyness of Hallertau hops, dominate the aroma and flavour, which is balanced by silky biscuity malt flavours. This intense ale finishes full-bodied with a mellow bitterness.

UPDATED: DEC 26, 2021 Rating from old records (Jan'18): pours murky orange-leaning amber w/white head, aroma fits description, taste is a bit disjoint

Golden and bright, has a plasticy nose, esters but not going in any one direction. Sweet, sugar apples, candy floss, plastic, basically it has some complexity but none of the elements are actually positive.

330ml bottle at Matt’s. Aroma is hoppy, but quite rough. Same story with taste. Meh.

Tasting at Matt’s
Dark blond color, clean. Some aroma of vegetables, spices and honey, very mild. Boozy and loaded with vegetable notes, unpleasant.

mcberko (41802) - Vancouver, British Columbia, CANADA - JUN 29, 2016
330mL bottle, pours a clear golden yellow with a small white head. Aroma brings out lots of perfumey notes, candied sugar, banana, Belgian yeast, and bubblegum. Flavour is messy and harsh, with banana, bubblegum and Belgian yeast. Harsh alcoholic mess on the finish. Very yeasty, incoherent and just not good overall.

DeliriumT (598) - Brisbane, AUSTRALIA - FEB 4, 2016
Pours a thin golden colour with minimal head. Aroma of lemons, banana and sugar. Flavour full of bananas. Enjoyable fruity grand cru but lacking in complexity. ---Rated via Beer Buddy for iPhone

Shark_Pants (781) - AUSTRALIA - FEB 14, 2015
Deep golden pour with a somewhat absent head. Aromas of hay and bubblegum. The taste has an overarching bubblegum sweetness but with a nice crisp underlying dryness, if that makes any sense. Medium bodied and spicy but the carbonation is a bit underdone. Big 8.8% booze is very well hidden. Well executed, if not overly complex, belgian interpretation that would benefit from stronger carbonation.

jmgreenuk (19374) - Kuala Lumpur, MALAYSIA - NOV 14, 2014
Bottle at Taps Beer Bar, Kuala Lumpur. Poured a clear light amber with a frothy white head and a few bubbles. The aroma is bubblegum yeast, dry malt. The flavour is moderate bitter with a smooth yeast citrus biscuit malt, alcoholic bitter palate. Medium bodied with average carbonation. I think these guys could show the Belgians a thing or two!

Murky golden colour, white head. Bit dusty aroma, orange lemonade, raisins. Quite sweet flavour, raisins, madeira, malts. Fizzy. Sweet finish, raisins. Feels old, lacks a readable date though.
