UPDATED: MAR 31, 2023 Pour is dark, practically black, motor oil with a nice tan head. Aroma of sweet dark fruits, figs, plums, chocolate, with some floral notes as well. Taste is quite good. Sweet, roasted malts, dark chocolate. A pretty nice beer. I discovered this one at a Grocery Outlet in Eugene Oregon.

UPDATED: OCT 17, 2020 If you like a bit of hoppiness with your imperial stout, this is a good choice. Well crafted.

UPDATED: OCT 21, 2018 I avoid IPAs because they are to bitter and taste gross. This Stout is no different and I will never buy it again. Stout should be bold, rich, thick, malty....that's why a lot of us drink it, not for nasty ass hop flavors.

Bitterbill (3241) - Casper, Wyoming, USA - NOV 22, 2017
From Jun 2008 This pours a pitch black with a huge +2 finger head of tan foam. The smell has notes of roasted malt, coffee, and hoppy bitterness. The taste has big roasted malt, coffee, a touch of dark fruit, and a quite big hop profile. In fact, this is a *very* hoppy Imperial Stout. The roasted malt is big too. as is the coffee, but they are having a heck of a time competing with the hops. I think if the hops were calmed down to a lower presence, this would be quite the good example of the style but as is, the hops are just too much. Perhaps some aging would help but as this is my only bottle, I'll leave it to someone else to find out. ;^) It has a nice thickish mouthfeel and the carbonation is light and right for the style. And it *is* one heck of a looker in the glass. Lots of lacing and the head retention is awesome. I'm very glad I got to try it but I probably won't seek it out again.

Sampled at GTBF 2006: Jet black, creamy brown head. Fairly fruity nose. Big preserved fruit notes. Medium body, chewy thick (but not nasty like the slogan claims). Fruity aftertaste. Bought the awesome T-shirt.
