COMMERCIAL DESCRIPTION
The starting procedure for the production of Yeast Lager is the same as for the Budweiser Budvar Czech Premium Lager. The difference is in the fact that before filling a certain volume of “rings” are added into the finished beer for consumption quality. A new culture of brewing yeast in the best condition and new ratio of extract is added into the beer. In the transport package (KEG barrels) there is a further level of fermentation of beer which brings better sensory quality and higher biological value. The Budweiser Budvar Yeast Lager contains lice culture of yeast, so therefore has a higher content of amino-acids and B complex vitamins. It also contains a higher ratio of high-molecular proteins which cause a stronger fullness of flavour. The flavour is stronger up to very strong which is positively reflected in the more fresher flavour of ringed lager. Experts will also feel the light flavour and aroma of yeast. The foam is rich, compact and very stable. The colour of the beer is golden-yellow, the presence of yeast in beer causes the beer to be non sparkling, but clear up to a light opalescent. The ringed lager is delivered exclusively into selected gastronomic operating units which fulfil the strict conditions for maturing of beer in KEG barrels because before tapping they must stand in an unchangeable position for a period of at least one week at the temperature of 6-8 °C. UPDATED: AUG 27, 2023 Tap at the brewpub next to the brewery - slightly hazy golden color, white head. very smooth texture, low carbonation. some vanilla, hops, medium bitter. a wonderfull all day beer. mooreish.

UPDATED: DEC 30, 2022 Ganz werde ich aus der Beschreibung des Biers nicht schlau: Es ist das klassische helle Budvar, dem aber beim Abfüllen in Fässer nicht näher definierte Ringe zugegeben werden, die dann mit spezieller Hefe das Bier zum nachreifen bringen. Keine Ahnung was man unter einem Ring beim Bierabfüllen versteht (ich tippe auf einen Übersetzungsfehler), aber die nachträglich zugegebene Hefe sorgt mit ihren Aminosäuren dafür, das die Kohlensäure ausgast und das Bier weitere hefig-brotige Aromen entwickelt.
Soweit die Werbung. Das Bier ist nich ganz ohne Gas, aber weitaus weniger spritzig, die restliche Kohlensäure ist sehr fein und macht das Bier sehr süffig, fast schon wie ein Kölsch. Die angepriesen Brotnoten würde ich eher als getreidig oder strohig beschreiben, aber passend.
Zum fettigen tschechischen Essen passt es wunderbar und die anwesenden Tschechen trinken es literweise wie Wasser.
Da es nur fassweise abgefüllt wird, bekommt man es eigentlich nur in der Gastronomie ofer auf Festivals und dort passt es auch gut hin und ist ein erfreulicher Spassbringer.
Rein aromatisch ist es aber eher lau, dad ist aber auch nicht seine Bestimmung.

UPDATED: SEP 30, 2020 Keg at GBBF, Earl’s Court on 04/08/2011. In fairness, I’d probably had this too late in the day, after lambics and Impy stouts. Still a very nice lager, but the subtlety might have been lost on me.

UPDATED: JUL 19, 2020 From tap at Budvarka - Dejvice after visiting the Museum of public transport 19.07.20. Translucent golden straw colour. Excellently fresh aroma and taste of Czech hops, meadows, lime peel and pilsner malt. Crisp mouthfeel and lingering hop bitterness.

UPDATED: SEP 27, 2019 Clear golden color with off-white head. Aroma has caramel, malt and hay. Taste is malty sweet with quite long somewhat bitter aftertaste. Flavors of caramel, malt and grass.

Can from SB. Golden with a thick white head. Malty and bready tones. Malt, cereals, hops and bitterness. Medium body with a dry finish.

0.3 l on tap at 'Piváreň Budík'. Clear, golden amber with a thin, dense, almost stable, white head. Faint, sweetish, a bit grassy-spicy aroma of grains, some straw and faint hints of butter. Slightly sweet, moderately bitter, gently grassy-spicy taste of grains, some straw and traces of butter, followed by a short, moderately bitter, slightly grassy-spicy finish. Almost medium-bodied, smooth and slightly effervescent mouthfeel, soft carbonation. Okay, nothing special really.
