Commercial Description:
Our Smoked Porter is a robust London style porter with a deep chocolate/ruby color and the subtle accent of hardwood smoked malt. This distinctive beer is brewed using no less than seven different varieties of premium European malted barley, resulting in a complex and full bodied beer characterized by hints of chocolate, coffee, caramel and beechwood smoke. The big malty finish to this beer is balanced by a solid hop bitterness and the refined English aroma and flavor of premium Goldings finishing hops.

Bottle - Pours a blackish brown. Nice tan head. Very good lacing. Aroma of chocolate and coffee. Exceptionally smooth and creamy. Very nice warming feeling. Tastes like a sweet coffee/caramel capuchino. Its not a beer that you will get excited thinking about, but it is very robust and all around solid. I will enjoy the rest of the 6 pack.

This one poured a very dark brown color with a very minimal tan head. Aroma was nice roasted dark malts and some chocolate sweetness in there as well. Flavor was dark roasted, some smokey hints, and a chocolate sweetness in the backend. Overall a good porter, but lacks the complexity of the great ones like edmund fitzgerald.

Pours dark redish brown with a thin tan head. Rich aroma; candy, dark fruit, alcohol. Nice smoked flavor with a strong hint of BACON! What more do you need to say? Excellent beer.

Pours a dark brown color with a moderate tan head that slowly dissapates leaving a sticky lacing behind. Aroma consists of toffee, roasted malt, perhaps chocolate and oatmeal. Taste is a very robust combination of roasted malt bitterness and chocolate/ toffee sweetness. Very flavorable porter

thanks to bonk0076 for this one! pours a thick black with a nice chunky brown head. aroma is roasty, chocolatey, smokey and delicate with a balancing hop note lingering. taste is nice, most impressive is the huge hop bitterness present! mouth feel is nice and full, very creamy and rich. notews of mollasses and tobacco in the aftertaste.

On cask at Friday the Firkenteenth at the Grey Lodge Pub. Pours an opaque, flat black with a little white head. Sweet aroma has some chocolate and hints of smoke, toast, bread, nuts coffee. Flavor is a classic porter, nuts, coffee, toasted grains with some nice robust sweetness with a touch of maple and brown sugar. Finish is full bodied and dry. Very nice on cask.

Bottle 12oz. - Poured like dark chocolate with small tan head. Aroma - dark fruits, soothing chocolate scent and musty wine barrels. Flavor - molasses, chocolate and dry woodsy smoke taste! Palate - medium bodied with thin texture. Good carbonation with lingering smokey wood taste. Dry.... Overall - The smoked wood flavor really shines through in this brew. Alot of nice and somewhat funky flavors, good beer and would try again.

Dark with a large beige head. Powerful molasses, roasty malts, smoke, earthy, dark fruits, chocolate, and coffee in the aroma. Silky body. Flavor is full of roasted malts, chocolate, some smoke, dark, ripe fruit. berries, coffee, and molasses. An intense and wonderfully brewed porter.
